Well done
I really need to have a big old gut of the kids rooms, DS has all the happyland under his bed that I was selling (but no one wants to buy!) so I am going to get that all out and donate it then can get under his bed and clean.
I need to go through all their books as well and I was going to to donate them to school as at the DD school they have little learners from age 2, then nursery, then reception to year 2 so the books that are too little for my two will be good for there xxDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Morning all! Thank goodness Friday is here, but my weekend will be so busy that I'm not sure if it's a blessing or a curse this weekend! haha
After only getting a tiny portion of my housework to-do list done in my allocated lunch hour on Wednesday, i was a bit disheartened. HOWEVER, for once i didn't let it hold me back. Instead, i did 10 minutes in my youngest's room (which got me about half way done) then i had to pick him up. Once the kids were in bed, i got the stuff back out and dusted and hoovered my room top to bottom before my shower and was still sat down by 9pm. I always think it's a thought starting to clean or do housework after the kids are in bed but it really didn't take too long at all.
The spare room/ my office is CAKED in dust and it's making for a horrible working environment because i feel like I'm just inhaling dust every time i move, so that's on the agenda to complete today. We have all our holiday stuff piled up in there and i'm still trying to work (plus it's a bit of a dumping ground) so it's not just as simple as dusting and hoovering. I do need to at least make a start though because I can't continue working in here while it's so dusty.
I seem to be on top of the washing these days which is a minor miracle - it's not backing up because I'm just washing then taking the 10 minutes to hang it up straight away rather than leaving it to sort later.
Trying to do stuff now rather than make excuses to do it later then never getting around to it. It is making a difference, i just hope i can keep it up.
I have about 101 errands to run today once i pick the eldest up from school so i have a list and have prioritised it to make sure all the important stuff gets done.
The sun is shining today (so far) and I have a washing on, so at least my mood is good. Sunshine makes all the difference!Sealed Pot Challenge 075

You are reminding me that lots can be achieved in a small amount of time. I often think I need hours but I don't really. Well done on using your time so well. I hope you find time to make your study nice.If you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

I've tried doing stuff as it happens if that makes sense, like in the past I would get the dry clothes in/off the radiators and would take them upstairs and put a pile on the bed, and then they would stay there till bedtime and get moved to the floor lol, so now I am taking them upstairs and immediately sorting them into people and then putting them away and it does make a difference xxDebt £30,823.48/£44,856.56 ~ 06/02/21 - 31.28% Paid OffMortgage (01/04/09 - 01/07/39)

Hi HG
I can't function in mess so I can imagine how you feel about working in your office at the moment. If the dust is affecting your breathing try and carve out a bit of time to sort through the room, otherwise you're going to feel rotten. You make things nice for everybody else so you deserve a nice working environment
A bit of housework here and there sometimes doesn't feel worth doing but if you add up all those 10 minutes you can squeeze in it's surprising what can get done. It's a never ending battle with a family though so don't be too hard on yourself.
Not long to your happy hols nowxx

Hi everyone, thanks so much for checking in during my absence
It's just over a month since I last posted and it's flown past super quickly.
All is well here - I had a super busy couple of weeks leading up to our holiday both with work and getting organised/ son's birthday party...you can see how it's been. However, it was all worth it as we totally switched off during our holiday and really enjoyed just taking time out from real life.
Back to reality now and trying to start as I mean to go on - being organised, stopping the procrastination and overthinking and just getting stuff done.
I didn't get round to doing a June financial update so going to do a combined June and July one now.
JUNE/ JULY ROUNDUP!
Balances and paid amounts
Loan: £3,158.46 / £15,792.30 (£112,633.84 paid off - 80% paid)
CC1: £3,525.61 / £4,804.97 (£1,279.36 or 27% paid off)
CC2: £3,704.58 / £5,031.14 (£1,412.38 paid off - 28% paid)
Total: £10,388.65 / £25,619.44 (£15,325.58 paid off, 60% paid)
Good things:
- Total debt paid off is now over £15k :j:j:j
- Total debt left is into the £10ks
- Loan is 80% paid!! Just 6 payments left...
- Have paid off a quarter of CC1 bill.
- Total debt paid off is 60% now :T
Not so good things- I've fallen away from the overpayment front. I mean, I'm paying more than the minimum on both credit cards so i am technically overpaying, but the extra that I was hoping to put to it over the last couple of months has been going elsewhere. Mainly to holiday stuff and going forward it'll likely be going into savings to pay for the architect etc.
- My focus was lost for a couple of months. No massive damage done or anything, just need to get refocused.

Ooh, i also got a small payrise effective from this month's salary. Should equate to around £80 per month extra in my pocket. Not lifechanging money but it'll go a little way to offset the many bill increases that hit us in April.Sealed Pot Challenge 075
