I know - I'd have chopped off a limb in exchange for that :) haha (kidding, obviously).

She said that because it's her last child, she'd rather have him home until he needs to go to school etc. Which, of course i get! But with me working full time, 30 hours free would have come in REALLY handy over the last 6 years!

That's exactly what my friend said, her daughter was her last and despite her and hubby working full time, she is a midwife so does crazy shifts too she kept her just at the 15 hours xx

I had a great but crazily busy weekend - it was filled entirely by taking the kids to classes/ clubs and then my son's first TKD competition. So proud of the little guy - he was amazing!

We took a packed lunch so no spends other than the £10 entry fee to spectate.

I found £1.25 in my jacket pocket this morning - nice little find, and it's been put in my tin now :)

Not a lot else to report money-wise. Car filled up yesterday to the tune of £75 and cupboards filled - I think the total bill was £70 for groceries.

Work is so busy right now but my head is not in the game. I need to change that ASAP!

My husband has secured two new jobs, one of them is pretty large and will involve quite a lot of work but will be a great boost to our savings account in a month or so.

The calendar is filling up quite substantially now between social stuff and work! And it looks like I'm going to have another transatlantic work trip in the next few weeks which won't help. We'll get through it as we always do :)

I need to buy a birthday present for my son's friend who is having a party on Saturday. Not quite sure what to get so i'll have a quick look online to get some ideas.

Thanks Moguline - it's great news. Hard work juggling everything while they're ongoing but really worthwhile. We take it while we can get it! :)

Here's a recap of where we are at with the savings and the plans for savings...

    Savings

I had to take money out of the savings account last week (planned) to cover the extra in the LARGE first mortgage payment and £40 for son's classes to pay until the end of this month. £320.

This is the lay of the land now...

    In account: £1,680.36
In cash (to be deposited): £500
    In cash (Euros): 230 EUR

    Total: £2,180 + 230 EUR

This is what I expect to come in between now and the end of April:
£1000 from husband's extra work (best guess)
£320 from our account mid-month (don't know if i'll allocate all to savings or send some to debt)
£800 from our account in April (not sure of the split yet but tempted to do £500 to savings and £300 extra to debt)
Potentially more if husband's night shifts kick back off

    What's in the plans:
£150 for friend's wedding to include a gift and bar spends! - DONE
£2,000 for holiday spending money (£1770 + the 230 EUR we have) - DONE
£500 for EuroDisney tickets - TO SAVE
    Emergengy fund...? - TO SAVE
House fund (windows/ kids rooms/ WC/ architect costs etc)...? - TO SAVE

Excellent news about your husband's extra jobs. :T All your figures are looking really good. It must be nice knowing the wedding and the holiday costs are covered and that you won't be coming home to pay bills for something that's been and gone :)

Your trips abroad always sound exciting, although maybe the reality is a little different when you're leaving OH and the boys at home :o Do you manage to get any down time or is it all work orientated. xx

Yea, it's a great feeling Tea to know that we have most of it covered and we are on the way to getting a good chunk chunk of money behind us. But I'm not under any illusions - things can change so quickly (especially with Brexit) so it'll be good to have some money put aside just in case. Our flat that we rent put is on the standard variable rate (no way we can fix) so if interest rates shoot up, so does our mortgage!

Anyway, we will cross that bridge when we come to it and try to prepare as best we can.

My trips are pretty decent - I have been to Africa, Asia and North America in the last 18 months so I do get around :D it all depends on my schedule whether I get time to see/ do anything. I think this time I'll try to give myself a day to see something before I go to the airport to come home. Its hard because I want to be seeing these places/ sights with my husband but he has to stay home with the kids.

Also, sorry for all the typos - the auto correct on my phone is really sneaky! Even when I change things to what I want it sometimes just changes anyway...

Just think of your trips abroad as reconnaissance so that when you do go with your husband you can just head straight for the best places :D

You should see the texts me and Mum send each other. Predictive text makes for some very random and interesting conversations :rotfl:

    Have a lovely day. xx

Haha I can imagine! When I'm updating on my laptop, I'm pretty accurate and check things as I go; but when I'm on my phone I'm normally multi tasking which is why I end up with some random sentences!

You're right about my trips - it gives me plenty of food for thought for future holidays :)

Picking up relatives from the airport today, so i guess I'll have a pretty hefty parking charge for that. I also need to return a couple of items so there'll be a small cost for postage there. Other than that, no spends planned.
