Don't get me wrong, their behavior is appalling. But you have let it slide - for understandable reasons. Now it's going to be much harder to address so why bother? Do you really want the stress/hassle of a confrontation?

If you do then hey, go for it. They'll ignore any letter so you'll have to talk to them. Hence why I suggest ignoring them and comfort yourself in the fact it won't be your problem much longer...

Ignore them or have some fun with them but its too late to do anything worthwhile in terms of changing their behaviour or getting money back - its never going to happen.

Personally I'd be down for two months of gently messing with their heads - "interesting" conversations designed for them to over hear, windows open with music on, bizarre behaviour in their sight etc. Maybe dig a hole in the garden and then sneak out and bury something innocent in it (box with a note about nosey neighbours in it for when they inevitably dig it up). Hang some really interesting underwear or other items out on a washing line.

I'd certainly phone the landlord and say that you've noticed the trees have gone and ask if they knew anything about it. They may want to get involved but that's their problem after you've left.

    They won't pay you back.
    They won't change their behaviour.
So why not just ignore them for the next two months, you are leaving, you can't improve on the situation in the meantime so the other option is to ignore and forget.
No one is saying it's right or fair, but it is I think the best option for your sanity to just draw a line under it now and focus on moving.

I noticed the trees missing from my front garden. They’ve only gone and cut down my two trees to the stump, taken all of the wood and left me with the leafy branches!

The most important thing is to notify your LL so that you don’t get charged for the trees and any clean-up that’s necessary.

I!!!8217;m not bothered about the !!!8216;theft!!!8217; or !!!8216;criminal damage!!!8217; as the house is not owned by me. I!!!8217;m more bothered about the trespass and just downright disrespectful behaviour. Ironically the woman was one of my dinner ladies at school and she was always rude to me as a teen which has carried on into adulthood.

You need to put it in writing asap to your landlord as it's you they will blame and charge.

Tell them you've had some inconsiderate lowlife asshat steal your bins, trees etc and that while the police are involved, in the meantime you've decided to install hidden cameras covering every angle of your property. Then sit back and watch them try to work out where the non-existent cameras are for the next 2 months. Rave about the cameras - full HD, night vision, motion detection etc.

If I understood your post right, you're moving out shortly so its not like their behaviour will be a concern for you for much longer, so you may as well have some fun before you go. Personally though, I would've pulled them up on it long ago and definitely on seeing my number on the bin, I would've taken it back.

You've missed the boat , you should have told them when the incidents happened, lawn mowing taking bins and other stuff. Revenge is a dish best served cold, mess with their heads in the last two months you have to endure them for.
Pop a note in or tell that it's a legal requirement to make neighbours aware your fitting cameras to the property(is it?) You're not fitting cameras but they don't know that and it may change some of their behaviour.
Go and get your bins back , they must go out. Or put your rubbish in your bins in their garden again they must go out.
Play music or watch the tell loudly.
Have an odd telephone conversation that they can hear

As you are leaving soon I would just leave it. Confronting them is likely to cause more unwanted stress.
Do you know if was they who cut the trees? Weird thing to do!
As others have said I would explain to the landlord in case you are blamed for it. Actually could it have been the landlord? Might the neighbours have complained about the trees so he felled them but forgot to tell you?
I had a similar elderly neighbour. He was always interfering. He once stood half naked in the street and waved at the Google van! His naked pot belly now on Google street view for all to see!
Try to ignore them and soon it will be a distant memory.

I know the DV problems may have made you less than willing to take chances, but you should be reporting these things to the letting agent at least.

As for the dustbins, do they still have your house number on? Get a friend over and go and get them back when they are out. If you have a nice big male friend you could get him to go and get them back when they were in. If they challenge him he could then mention the hidden cameras you have had installed as people have been cutting down trees etc.

I'm all for messing with their heads too, after all they have been messing with yours. Have whispered conversations on your phone outside when they are out, punctuate by things like "I don't want to go into witness protection" and "they cannot prove he killed them".

Unfortunately, going on what you have said, they are just "that" type of people and will likely never change, you just need to survive the last couple of month, might as well have a bit of fun.

And if you get your bins back it means you can take your nice new ones with you when you move.
