Old Style Daily Monday 25th June 2018

This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
I could get used to the lovely weather that we are having here at the moment I am really enjoying it.
Today I plan to make the most of it again, and I am going to take a picnic to the park at lunch time and spend some time people watching.
There is a small amount of housework that I need to get done, like a thorough clean of the kitchen but I will do that this evening when I get home and it will be cooler.
Like AOD I was also lucky with reduced items when I went to the shops when the football was on yesterday and got some really good bargains in M & S. I was really pleased that I had made the effort to go out when the football was on. At the time I nearly didn’t because I was so comfortable reading in shade in the garden.
I’m going to have a cheeseburger with chips and salad for dinner tonight. I got a couple of burgers in M & S yesterday. I also got some tarte au citron slices so will have one of those with some cream for dessert.
I hope that today goes well for you Gers.
It sounds like you had a good plan for football avoidance yesterday Nelski. I hope you enjoyed yourself.
Congratulations Csarina. That is quite a few grandchildren and great grandchildren that you and your OH have between you.
I hope that you enjoyed your lunch with the family yesterday camelot
Hopefully you had a fruitful shopping trip yesterday during the football like me and AOD JackieO.
Sorry I missed your birthday yesterday meanmarie, I hope that you had an enjoyable day.
Snoozer that sounds like a scary dream you had, hopefully you had a better night last night.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
Morning All
I mis-read the clock this morning and got up at 4.45! Anyway, a few jobs have been done and I'm all ready for the week to begin.
No washing this morning, it's all up to date until I get home from work. The house is clean and tidy too.
I had a lovely lunch yesterday, DGS is certainly a character, he charmed the neighbours and ate a good lunch although I'm missing some little men from the fire engine, should have checked his pockets!
A few left overs for dinner tonight, nice and easy, it's certainly salad weather here.
Good luck for today Gers.
Happy Birthday for yesterday MM, hope you're having a good holiday.
Congratulations Csarina!
Three and a half days to go before the end of term! Happy Monday, take care. XX0 -
Morning folks and thanks HOLLY. Another day of wall to wall sunshine forecast for most of us. Yesterday got a bit too hot and I resorted to reading under the big sunshade. I am riveted to my new book and can't put it down.
I never got to Dunelm yesterday as Mr TA was still well below par when he got up so DD picked my order up for me on her way to work.
I am going to try and get an appointment for him today. He is managing to eat less and less. Plus the anti sickness pills are not working as well as they did. The doctor said it was better to try and manage the gastroparesis through diet as some of the treatment, which is not guaranteed to work anyway, is worse than the disease itself. But we are not managing it through diet and the weight is dropping off him still. Such a worry.
I seem to have missed some of yesterday's posts as I never got back on here. So congratulations to CSARINA. Belated birthday wishes for MEANMARIE. MRS SD that sounds an enjoyable holiday. CAMELOT glad you had a lovely day with your DGS and are finally getting to know him. GERS hope today goes better than you are expecting. ((HUGS)) for all in need/want of them and take care all xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

hollyharvey - thanks for starting us off x
Hugs to those that want/need one x
Happy birthday to those with a birthday x
Warm and sunny already.
DH up and gone to work stupid early, DS1 now getting ready for work and DS2 still in his pit, will wake him shortly.
Lunch yesterday was roast pork, roasties, HG new potatoes, cauli/broc cheese, carrots, green beans, yorkshires and gravy - was lovely. Tonight will be either fish or pasta - see how I feel when I get in.
We did get a few jobs done over the weekend, still have things to do. Back to work today for me, we'll see how busy it is, isn't normally too bad when it's warm. Now on count down for our hols, can't wait.
Keep safe and well x

Morning all,
Child care day today, I've got my little Diva. Can't believe she will be one year old in a few days. She's still not crawling but is very vocal.:D. She's following the very same development pattern that her Mother did.
Onwards and forwards

Good Morning chums and a beautiful morning already with a high predicated of aroud 26-7c.
I managed to get my shopping in peace at yesterday lunchtime so no shopping for me this month at least and I can enjoy the lovely weather instead, plus it came to just over £17 odd which was even better, Not had a big food shopping bill this month as I am using up my stuff in the freezer as much as possible and I was away for a week earlier on this month, so quite happy with the food budget and have a few quid to go into the holiday fund which is even better.
Hope everyone gets a good dose of sunshine today to make up for the horrible weather we had earlier this year and the sun always cheers folk up,
Happy Monday chums

Morning everyone,
Internet ate my post. So, in short;
A lovely weekend was had. Been to the gym this morning and I've got football tonight. Jamie Oliver's satay chicken for dinner.
Hope everyone has a lovely day and week ahead.0 -
TA, I'm sorry things aren't improving, I hope the dr can help.
Holly, it wasn't really a bad dream, just a voice shouting across the dream if that makes sense. It was a male voice shouting mum so it woke me with a start and made me worry about DS. Of course he was fine, I spoke to him yesterday and the only problem he had was that he had left the key to the stable containing the lawnmower and bbq in Wales.
I've almost finished bottoming upstairs, should finish today but I'm noy rushing at it in this heat.
DD and DSiL have been in Norfolk staying in a tree house at the place they got married so they have had beautiful weather.0
