Watching Channel 4's Property ladder tonight, one of the houses (the chapel conversion) had a really nifty tap in the kitchen - one tap had cold filtered water and the other had boiling water - all built into the worktop.
Any ideas where this would come from?? I really want one for my new house!!!
Thanks

I saw this at the grand designs show a couple of years back and my inital thoughts were great gadget I want one !
I then went on the stand and looked at it a bit closer.
The unit underneath is massive it takes a whole 600mm cupboard space, it also stores a tank of boiling water all day keeping it up to temperture (not what they said on c4).
The salesman gave us details of how economical it is to run quoting an installation in a college in use by hundreds of people.
For hundreds using it, it probably does add up, for an avaerage household it will work out far more than boiling a kettle when you actually want the water.
I can't remember the exact price but a seem to remember it was over £500, that's one expensive kettle.0 -

For anyone who really must have one, I think you're talking about the Zip Hydro tap: http://www.ziphydrotap.co.uk/
It has it's own drain grille and is likely to cost you more like £2,000, fitted. The cheaper ones don't chill the filtered water and also provide water which isn't quite boiling.
Nice gadget - but I bet the pink kettle looks good!I write blogs about kitchens ... and I design kitchens for a living ... I just love kitchens!0 -

When a man says "it's not the money, it's the principle - you KNOW it's the money"
Substitute design, for principleWarning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0 -
there are alternatives to this at better money if anyone wants more details, zip taps good but expensive we tend to recommend alternatives because of this0

Good morning: Similar products also available from www.franke.co.uk ('Little Butler') and www.insinkerator.co.uk (HC1100)...then google for prices.
We'll stick with our electric kettle;)
