New toilet won't flush paper

That's the joy of the new water-saving cisterns, they just don't have enough water to do the job. I put off getting one for years because they're such a PITA, then I searched every plumber I could find looking for one with a 12L flush, but with no luck.
I got fed up with having to keep unblocking the new toilet, but these days I've just trained myself to use less paper.0 -
We had this problem when moved into a new home for us.
I got a plumber to fit a new internal unit and he could not get it to fill to the 6L line. However, my builder brother-in-law visited and opened the cistern, "twisted the unit"(?) so the float can now raise higher... Not really sure what he did but it is now the best flushing unit I know!
Good luck,

High level cistern were also a big help in getting rid of the huge floaters on the first flush. Modern close coupled toilets just don't have the flushing power.
I didn't think bears used toilets, I thought they went in the woods.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0 -
Is toilet paper (non Izal!) not designed to break down in water after a while?0

You shouldn't have to wait for it to decompose before flushing though!0

My cistern has a dodgy flush and takes yonks to refill but on the next flush toilet paper does flush away as it's partially broken down. If the OP's toilet paper is accumulating I'd consider changing it.0 -

When out amongst the trees, yes. Just dig an 8" deep hole well away from any water sources. Bag the toilet paper for disposal in a bin, and fill the hole back up. Although if traveling through an environmentally sensitive area (above the snow line, or a desert), bag the lot and carry it out with you.
When in town, there are insufficient trees, so it makes sense to use a proper toilet - That and the natives get a little stroppy if you use a flower boarder :rotfl:Her courage will change the world.
Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.0 -
My toilet is Saniflow 33 and although a few years old it's great. To test it I put in a pound of mashed up Dundee cake, one pull on the handle, and the result........not a trace! We had a similar issue, the toilet flush wasn't powerful enough.
The overflow pipe was too low so the cistern didn't fill up enough. Raising it up fixed the issue.0
