Given that this thread stems from the OP's bullying of someone on benefit in the benefits forum, I don't feel it's worthy of a considered answer.

    as title says
are mobiles a luxury or necessity?
If for example a person says they are struggling with debt, and spends say, £50+ per month on internet access, is that access deemed to be a luxury or necessity?

I say luxury, what say ou?

Pointless question as individuals will value things differently and define debt differently depending on their point of view and life experience.

All this question does is reinforce people’s preconceived ideas about others along with judgement and a sense of righteousness which I kind of get from this
Happily not addicted to my mobile.....

Judging by the shifting sands of the definition of "poverty" in the UK, I'd have thought anyone without an iphone would fall into its jaws.

in my opinion, mobile phones should be considered as something mandatory. Of course, it depends which model do you have and how much do you spend for top ups but i've heard last time very good sentence with which i totally agree that"Even homeless people have mobiles and internet connection nowadays"

So you'd force people to have a mobile whether they wanted one or not? I've seen some nonsense on this forum but I'm fairly sure that takes the biscuit.

I assumed he was being sarcastic, though it's hard to tell since he can't express himself very clearly.

definitely a necessity! if you look at the barebones functions of it i.e purely communication when out and about

Although looking back when I was younger it was a luxury but that was around 16 years ago( gosh I feel old!!)
