I need a screen for my laptop for work purposes. Not sure what my options are, which brands offer good value, what I need to consider and any recommendations would be appreciated.
Thanks :-)

A screen for your laptop for work? Is the screen broken or do you need an external lcd monitor?0 -
Yes, an external monitor as I want a bigger screen.0
-
it would help if you told us the make and model of your laptop, and the type of work it is used for - text, photos, magazine print. moving graphics, film, 4k or 16k? Dual, triple or quad monitors? Size? Resolution? Portrait/landscape? Colour accuracy? Do you have a docking station, or would you get one?0
-
Budget, screen size?0
-
Yes of course, sorry.
Budget, Id say up to £150.
There are 2 laptops, a Mac and PC so ideally it would be used for both.
- Work purposes would be mainly emails, some browsing and some work with images but the latter isn't regular or intensive. No gaming at all.
- Screen quality would be good as possible as I want better than a laptop and good detail but not sure I need 4K really. 4k is not a must anyway I don't think.
- Screen size. My current machine (iMac) is 21 inches and would like it bigger as I sometimes want 2 windows next 2 each other (on same screen) to copy/check stuff. I would say 24" minimum.
- Dual/etc - Need just the one that I can plug a laptop into when I'm working at home and want to sit at a desk.
- Landscape monitor
- Docking station - No and dont want one0 -

I posted this deal over on HUKD a month or so back

Its up a little in price but still tremendous value. The one supplied has a much smaller bezel than the one in the pic - if you read down through the posts you'll see a pic of the actual monitor
I bought two. Great for office use and excellent picture quality and colours.0 -

There could be umpteen different types of connectors involved here. Do you know what video outputs both your laptops have? HDMI would be ideal, Displayport (or miniDisplayport) would be fine, DVI/miniDVI is old, VGA is ancient.
Once we work out the connectors, you'll want a monitor that matches.
Another question to answer - do you want the monitor to have speakers?0 -

Just for info, that monitor i posted a link to has DisplayPort, VGA, DVI and HDMI ports.0 -
