Moto G4 Plus Ghost Touch Issue

My OH has had the G4 plus for just less than two years and has been very happy with it apart from the ghost touch issue that started about six months ago and has steadily got worse.

She has tried most of the online advice and finally did a factory reset the other day but the problem remains.

Would Lenovo still repair it under guarantee?

its a well known issue. I doubt Lenovo will help you after the 1 year warranty.

Not sure if there is a fix anyhow?

Happened to me and Tesco mobile replaced it right away without trying to fix/repair it

    or try these tips

Thanks I am not very hopeful but will try the Youtube tips and see what happens.

It's a shame really as the Moto G has always been a great phone but I am sure many people will not buy one again because of this problem which I think only happened since Lenovo took over.

it appears to have happened on the G4 only. I had a G5 & G6 and they are fine

Something about the phone overheating sets it off?

I think overheating has definitely got something to do with it. I tried quite a few things before doing a system reset and I was sure that would sort it out but it didn't. Some people say it's a motherboard fault if the system reset does not cure it.The Plus came with a fast charger and I have seen recommendations not to use it because the fast charge causes excessive heat.

Not had to power down for a few days so it looks like the YouTube tips ( which were almost identical) sorted it out.
OH is very happy so a big thanks to ballyblack for the help.
