Good morning.
Bright blue sky here, still a bit nippy but hoping for a bit of warmth later. And yes, there could be some sitting out / wine sipping taking place.
My stress will soon come to an end on Monday. Before that I have to spend the day printing and collating loads of 'stuff'. I'm not going down to Glasgow this weekend so a couple of friends are have been recruited to do things for DM. She's got an opticians appointment, has meds to collect and (most important of all) the Saturday Times to buy.
I've still got chicken to eat up, salad and a lurking ripe avocado.
Happy Friday to everyone.0 -
Morning ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.
A lovely bright morning, we have 72 plugs to pot on ready for next spring, some will go in individual pots the others will have to share......if they don't like it tough!!
Nothing really planned for today apart from the plants, we are still picking strawberries, I gave another bowl full away yesterday, but there are still more to come. 13lbs so far.
OH has a bruise on his back, he has no idea how he did it, I suspect a cane in the garden, he is so clumsy.
I made arrangements last night to get the carpet in the hall and sitting room cleaned. The chap did my daughters carpets the other week. We do not have to lift the furniture he does it. He is coming next Thursday afternoon. No idea what he is going to do with the chest in the hall, we may have to take the drawers out so he can lift it out. The shelves on top are fixed to the wall. We also have a big bookcase in the sitting room, it will be interesting to see how he wants to cope with that. I think we will empty it and take the opportunity to clean it. OH loves fiddling with books and putting them in height order.
Fish and chips tonight, strawberries and cream for dessert.0 -
Good morning all,
Surprisingly warm here this morning. Probably won't last.
I see that sport divides opinion here. Stereotypical perhaps, but as a man, I love it all aside from cricket. Much like you TA, it would put me to sleep.
Last night my step-dad visited to try and fix my dish washer, with no luck, so he'll call in a guy who knows what he's doing. I made the double chocolate and raspberry marble cake last night (which baked for an hour!!) but then realised I didn't have icing sugar for the icing, so I've been to the SM this morning to get some.
No plans tonight. Mac'n'cheese for dinner, it's been years since I had it.
RR - You're right, the Olympics is brilliant fun.
Judi - Ok, I'll let you away with it then. Since it's you...0 -
Morning
Whoop whoop the hot days are back. Plans today involve starting my new book club read in the back garden. Its always nice and peaceful out there on a Friday.
All going well with my leg I think still very sore but its a different pain from the constant ache of hip pain far more tolerable. Hoping a weekend of taking it easy will mean by next week I can start to up the exercise again.
Had a lovely lunch out with one of my besties yesterday and we thoroughly sorted the world and all its problems out as you do. I had a yorkie wrap which was gorgeous ...hot beef wrapped in a yorkshire pudding with gravy horseradish and roast potatoes.
Food today will be salady based no doubt quite fancying a ploughmans
Have a fab Friday all0 -

Good Morning,
I really must make more effort to post on this board, I'm always lurking and reading
Lovely sunny day here, blue skies and not a cloud to be seen!
Unfortunately I am at work and it is going to be a long day of auditing:( June is always a stressful month for us.
It's Friday tho which means DD and I will be enjoying our usual HM pizza and film nightInto slobby clothes as soon as we are home and then couch potatoes are us!
Not sure what our weekend plans are yet, no doubt DD will be meeting up with friends to spend their pocket money...I guess I'll be left to my own devises!
Right, must dash, busy busy.

Having a lazy morning and just about to make brunch before setting off for a bus to York. Meeting older dd and walking into city centre to treat ourselves to the Jurrassic film this afternoon.
A few parcels have arrived that I ordered for another dd who is due her first baby late July so I want to open and check them and then box, label and wrap them ready for when I see her on Sunday.

I am glad things are improving with the pain etc. and be careful once you start to exercise. Enjoy the back garden with your book.
I probably won't get home till after six so will either take a meal out of the freezer when I get home or cook a chop with tomatoes, gherkins and pickles.
Hugs to all0 -
Speky I'm like Lainey, brought up with brothers and a convent schooled mum who was a demon underarm bowler! I love footy, rugby (both), cricket (especially TMS on the radio) and tennis so am a happy bunny right now!2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇

I'm afraid I'm not a fan of televised sport at all; neither is Mr LW though, which is fortunate for me, as he selects our viewing, and the only thing for me to do if I don't want to see what he's chosen is retreat to either the kitchen or the bedroom. Which is awkward as he always chooses to watch his programmes while we have dinner. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0

Afternoon!
A definition of cricket on a tea-towel:You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.
Each man that's in the side that's in goes out, and when he's out he comes in and the next man goes in until he's out.
When they are all out, the side that's out comes in and the side thats been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.
Sometimes you get men still in and not out.
When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.
There are two men called umpires who stay all out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.
When both sides have been in and all the men have out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game!
Always cheers me up.
My day has been so good. All the paperwork sourced, printed, collated and referenced! One big folder and one small one, both ready and waiting for Monday. I feel prepared and much more relaxed, and appreciative of some fabulous colleagues too!
There will be wine. There may be singing. There will not be dancing!0
