Aircon - re-gas?

If you!!!8217;re lucky, it might be as cheap as a regas.
Might be something more sinister such as a damaged condensor or a compressor that!!!8217;s packed up.0 -
If it's still getting cold just not as cold as it used to be then it's more than likely just a small gas leak somewhere but this will be something that needs looking at by someone with the correct test equipment.
If the leak is from a pipe or joint then it will only cost the price of the regas and the replacement pipe/joint + labour but if it's compressor or condenser that's leaking, the cost could well be into the £hundreds.0 -

Just got mine regarded by ATS, they pressure test system before they refill. Offer on Groupon for £29.99, usually £49.99 at Halfords etc.0

I use one of the franchises that come out to you and have found them to be very good. They do a bit more than most garages will as part of the service.
I used:

My limited understanding about this is that aircon is meant to be used regularly. If not, the seals can dry out and coolant can escape. If it's dropped a little, re-gas will be fine. If not, compressor can fail. I know on VW cars, the compressor is £1000. The aircon is meant to be regularly serviced.0

Yes, I’ve heard about using it regularly. Hard when it’s not hot :-) lol
I guess the aircon service is different to the annual service?
I didn’t know you had to get aircon serviced.0 -

Never - if it’s not included in a regular service.0
