Hi Sun Addict, I'll look for your diary. Funnily enough we had a real bad time a few years ago when that song was on and I used to sing it all the time hoping it would eventuall work, things do get better but in a different way to what you want sometimes.
8 years seems like a long time but it goes so quickly but good luck with your journey.
Enjoyed our meal deal and the wine was lovely. Had two of the other grandsons round to liven things up, so needed the wine when they had gone.
Am starting with my next account, have paid £57 to them don't owe a great deal to them but when my quidco payment comes in, if it ever does, it will be £45 then i'll only have £20 to pay off.
Off to work again, another long day today, yesterday I had 3 hours overtime, today is just a normal long day, but I have pulled a muscle in my shoulder blade so drugged up with ibuprofen as its agony.
Everyone not working enjoy the sun today its going to be lovely0 -
Thank you Uncanny Scot no doubt I will ask lots of questions along the way, I have been in debt for as long as I know my first incident was with the bank manager getting a telling off when I was 16 you think I would have learnt from that, now at 62 I think its finally sinking in, never too late.
realistically I have owed money to someone for something for the best part of 4 decades - the world hasnt ended, and we had fun on the way, but as we near the final pay cheque we do need to get things in order. I have a good job and benefitted from all the house price inflation and asset booms so thats given me some slack, but that slack will go when I become a pensionerI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
Thanks for commenting Mark88, your right the world doesnt end, but I always have that nagging feeling at the back of my head and would like to get rid of it, I'm giving myself 3 years, but if I still feel the same about my job then I will stay.0

So a bit about me: its me OH and GS, muddling along together (well GS in his room most of the time on Xbox) OH buys and shops for food, he loves going to all the different shops for bargins, mainly Lidl and Farm Foods but also home bargins B&M £1 shop etc. He also pays for Car tax upfront insurance the same and house insurance all up front, also he pays the mortgage, I pay the rest.
We are off the Turkey this year with all the family in August and although expensive its more or less paid for just some spending money.
I have tins for Xmas, Pantomime and Holiday.
We are simple people with simple tastes not bothered about designer this and that and most of my clothes are given to me by my daughters and OH clothes are usually birthday/xmas. GS clothes are either my daughters, his dad or me so don't spend a lot on his clothes.
So far today I have spent £1.25 on Pringles for GS, wine from OH. Am seriously thinking of trying to give up the vino for a while but struggle with that one at the moment as life is stressful. Recently read a kindle book called the Sober diaries which was good and she drank Becks Blue so might give that a try but that will have to wait till Monday.
Hope you are having a lovely weekend in the sunshine. Off to watch Casualty my fav programme.0 -
Becks Blue is really nice- I drink it in the week. I still like my wine at the weekend thoughI get knocked down but I get up again (Chumbawamba, Tubthumping)0

Sun addict i am reading your diary as you were writing, am up tp #181 so got a wayto get through yet. Will give the Blue becks a try during the week too, don't think i could give up my beloved wine forever.0

Up early with a pulled muscle in my back, still positive, gives me time to read diaries. Not starting work until 12, its been really quiet lately which makes for boring and lots of sweet eating out the back where we can't be seen.
No spend day today not even taking my purse only 1/4 hour break so will take a snack to eat as I'm trying not to eat bread today.
Still waiting for my quidco money to come out its two weeks late have tried to get in touch but its predicted answers. Will try again next week. I want to pay it towards my Next account as there isn't much on it.
Hope everyone not working enjoys the sunshine today.0 -
So went missing for a few days, extremely tired Mondays and Tuesdays are choc a bloc grandchildren lovely but tiring, funny I never thought when I took mine round to my mum and dads (all 4 of them) why they always looked so happy when we went, now I know.
So quidco have confirmed so £45 towards Next and only another £20 odd to pay so should do that by the beginning of next week.
I did a "whats the cost" snowball tonight, as the footies on AGAIN, yes I know its world cup but it does get boring unless England's playing then I don't mind so much. Anyway I digress, If I can find an extra £300 a month then I can pay everything (not the mortgage or loan on the mortgage) off in 3 years, I just have to think of ways to do this. I have overtime next week so working it out so far will earn an extra £50 maybe more if I can get more overtime.
I'll have to put my thinking cap on and see where or how I can do this, quite excited by the prospect of it all.
Hope everyone is enjoying the sunshire, lovely to get the washing dry (2 lots today) and the paddling pool out, more towels to wash.0 -
Think i've worked out how to pay an extra £300 a month. Can you pay extra if your on a DMP? I was going to stop my Park £25 a month I have £200 in there and with my £1 a day that will be £565 plus I get stamps from Tesco and Tesco vouchers. Also I' going to ring one place on monday and ask if I can pay £47 a month less on that debt.
Grandson gone off for his holiday with his dad so feeling a bit lost at the moment as I do tend to fuss around him. Will be reading diary's all evening really hope they havnt cancelled Casulty tonight.
Loving this weather, got 2 lots of washing dry all put away, except for the ironing i have to do but will do that some other time.
Tomorrow we are all off to the beach, so be hot and fun hopefully.
Have a great weekend and if you like the football - enjoy0 -
Had a lovely day at the beach, so nice and hot, no spend day as there is nothing there to buy anything (not even a cuppa) the girls all took snacks and drinks so helped myself to a couple of bits and a drink. My SIL birthday today so they all went for a meal (which ended up a disaster) but we ate at home as OH had to go to work for 6. Joined them for a drink AL and took the chocolate cake I always make on birthdays, just got home its so quiet without GS and I'm trying to stay AF if I can but find it so boring.
Hope if anyone is reading this had a great day in the sunshine0
