In an effort to get this post back on track I can report that the original problem has reared its head again today.

I'm just ignoring it and will stop using Kaspersky once my free Barclays trial has ended.

Hi Neil. Yes, a number of people are posting on the Kaspersky support forum at the moment, experiencing this problem.
A number of us have posted requests for help to Kaspersky Lab Technical support.
Once I receive a reply I will post it on here.
Like yourself, I am becoming increasingly disenchanted with Kaspersky.

As was the case a few weeks ago, the problems are resolved and Safe Money appears to be working normally again.
A case of deja vu then, so far from ideal.
