Well done What2 ch. Seems we are doing all we can. Would it seem impossible to even think Kaspersky could get "hacked" OR have any state intervention when thinking of items recently in the news? I`m just going to use another lappy to change some of my log in details just in case. I`d hate to have to dump Kasp as they have been secure as far as I am concerned for a few years now. I haven`t yet looked on any social media stuff related to Kasp although I don`t trust that too much but it might show we are just a tip of the iceberg for a major problem.
Thanks for the links, I know I`m not a teenager but still have me marbles yet the Kaspersky menus look a complete minefield to me.
The thing is do you need to use another laptop to change your details? The message I'm getting is that the phishing virus is being blocked, so I'd have thought you're safe to change your details on your existing pc, if you so wish.
Myself and another concerned poster on the Kaspersky support forum have contacted Kaspersky Lab Support, so let's see what happens there eh?0 -
Interesting that your PC man is having probs.
I`ve just hit on your forum link and I see there are quite a number of comments now. The weird thing is that it isn`t affecting all financial companies. Whilst I have the same banks as you I also have some others ( not that I have a fortune just that the guy who runs this site always says we must use the same money but shift it around to get the best deals ) and I can log onto those others safely...as far as I`m aware.
I agree it does state the URL that`s dangerous is blocked buuuuut?
Out of interest I see Kasp has a virus check link which I hit on but it says post the link so I copied your long link ( as I couldn`t seem to copy mine ) to which it stated this wasn`t a link. Begged the question, what exactly is the URL..the whole volume?0 -

Not sure Beejays. What I did do is paste the first part of the Santander phishing message, namely.....
https://analytics.santander.co.uk
.....and it came back safe on the Kaspersky virus desk....

So I'm justing hoping Kaspersky themselves will shed some light on this issue soon.0 -
I never asked what2.Did you manage to change your log-in and passwords for your Halifax account? More importantly...did it work and solve the problem? Presumably you used a different computer?0

I have changed log in details, but have done this using same laptop.
I know you're doubtful but I'm prepared to accept any possible dangerous url is being blocked. Anyway, my banks know of this problem because I've rung and told them, so if the worst happens, they'll know it's not because of my irresponsibility.0 -
make yourself a linux boot cd or usb key, and boot of that. Use it to do your banking.
Mint and Manjaro, and possibly a few other let you run a live version from memory0 -
Kaspersky has blocked this when I've commenced to sign into both Halifax, Lloyds and TSB through the Safe Money option. I didn't even get to the point of entering my user id.
Just logged in on another pc with Avast installed and nothing showed up.0 -
Who trusts a Russian security company with their bank log-on details? :rotfl:0

Will never understand why anyone uses a paid for internet security software anyway.

I have received this message from Kaspersky lab technical support....
There have been quite a few case in regards to false/positive detections. Our Virus Specialists are still investigating the issue. I have sent the URL you sent us to our Virus specialists for investigation. I will get back to you once I receive a reply on the matter.0
