Some lights were out on my last MOT and I didn't have time to fix them before going in. They replaced them for £12, less than Halfords would have charged, and handed me a pass certificate for another year.

Except the MOT/ service interval don't always coincide..also if mileage is low then a 12 month annual service " on the nose" is sometimes not really needed...I sometimes get the Indy MOT done then a service a few months later ( I do actually trust the garage I use but just don't think the car needs anymore doing at present based on the driving I've done in the last 12 months ) Over several years of ownership this generally for me has worked out much more cost effective. I have also owned the car from new and was pretty sure it would pass.


WRT the Garden waste deal, we elect to pay for garden collection..this reduced the MOT from £40 to £30.
