Energy price comparison website
Options
Hi, I'm looking for website that will list current deals with standing charges and price per unit of energy (electricity and gas) plus prices after deal ends so I can compare prices. I did not have accounts in my name before so can't compare against previous bills.
Can you recommend something? I've been looking but all I can find is comparison against current supplier which is not giving me full picture.
Thanks

Surely, you need to change again after deal ends?
Regarding comparisons, all you can do is make an intelligent estimate of usage, and pick a random existing supplier. You should be able to click through to find the cost per unit & standing charge on the comparison site.0 -
Although the comparison site headlines give the saving against your current deal they list the suppliers in price order. All you need is a good guess at your annual kWh use, maybe try a high, low and middle figure, and see what comes out. The individual unit price is not really relevant as the comparison tools give the cost per year and will re-order the suppliers depending on use. The end of deal prices are not important as they will likely change before then.0

What matters is the bottom line and that a mixture of units, standing charges (plus VAT). The comparison sites do this for you - a list such as you suggest just gives you a lot of work as you do the sums.Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
This is the best

As said, its the overall price that counts. You need to add daily charge and usage to give a true reflection of the price.
Unlike broadband, no point worry about the price after a year. Standard rates will have changed in a year time, although I guess the large suppliers tend to have higher standard rates.
The first year its a bit of a guess. But most 1 year fixed deals will be cheaper than the standard rate.
After a year you will have your exact usage and can switch again for maximum savings (balanced with customer service level you require) :money:0 -

Pretty sure someone posted the full list of ofgem accredited energy comparison sites recently. (obviously only use sites accredited by ofgem)
Nearly all provide the data you wish.
When the deal ends, you will move to that supplier's default tariff (usually their standard variable tariff), unless you give instructions otrherwise.
I'll see if I can find the list for you....0 -

Thanks.
For some reason all ask about my current supplier and want to compare against them. but I do not have one. Strange system. I just want to see current best deals on the market.0 -

Make one up. The only reason that the information is required is to give you an idea of any savings that you might make from switching. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
If you are moving to a new house you will be with the previous occupiers supplier. The standard tariff.0

So the comparison sites do not take into account daily standard charge?0
