Best way to call a US premium number from mobile?

I would like to call a US 901 number, which I understand to be a premium rate number. Is there any way to minimise the cost of this from the UK? I have seen plenty of sites for cheap calls to area code numbers but does these do not seem to apply to premium rate numbers.


I'm struggling to find the standard US cost per minute and I have no idea how much extra it would be to call from abroad. Ideally, I'd like to get as close to the internal US cost as possible.


Does anyone have any suggestions?

It may not be possible to call from abroad at all, as there would be no way of handling the premium rate call accounting so the recipient of the call gets their revenue.

However if you get a US VoIP number from eg Callcentric and set up a VoIP app on your phone eg Zoiper, you will appear to have a US phone number. Callcentric says their rate to US Premium is under $0.02 per call on their pay-per-call tariff - but I'd be surprised if that's totally accurate.
