That's how they can afford to be cheap.0 -
Am I correct in thinking that if you don't pay PB upfront, they sign you up to some kind of costly insurance scheme?
I've also heard they are keen for you to take up the services of their recommended surveyors, solicitors etc. However, I've found that's the case with most EAs.0 -

It seems that all they do is take some mediocre pictures, cut-and-paste the description, slap it all up on Zoopla and Rightmove, and then retire to the pub to spend the up-front payment. Not bad for a morning's work!
The relative in question has engaged a traditional bricks/mortar local agent now.
I'm not surprised BP weren't interested they are an oil and gas company! :rotfl:
If your relative had a probably with Purple Bricks they should have contacted them directly (instead of the local fuel station) and it may have been resolved0 -

Takman referred to them as BP as he had already called them Burple Pricks. Do keep up!0

We used emoov, no problem with communication and phone calls back. Buyer kept informed, very easy to manage booking. With emoov you have 12 month to sell, but it only counts when property is advertised.
So if you take it off, time stops, if it fails to sell (someone pulls out) time start running again - I think it stops when is STC. Oh and you can get £80 back through cashback websites.
The only thing, local agent wasn't that local - but we dealt with office team (4 assigned people).
No problems really.0 -
I've used eMoov too - they have a good sales progression team. Others have said housenetwork are good. PB seem a bit Marmite. Never use their agent for viewings - they frequently cancel appointments. They're extremely inflexible in my experience.
NB - many traditional agents also do a discounted service where the vendor does the viewings."Real knowledge is to know the extent of one's ignorance" - Confucius0 -
Hello, my sister used them and everything was perfect. That said hers was an easy place to sell - walking distance to the Central Line tube in London anyway, she was very pleased with them.0

We used Purple Bricks to sell our last house. Our Sales guy was amazing and did all the viewings for us and we couldn't fault him.
It's true that their post sales team is non existent,
We moved nearly 3 years ago, and at that time If you don't pay up front you are required to use Ezie conveyancing/Premier Property Lawyers which we did,
Initially it looked great, you get a specific conveyancer who deals with your move, online account to upload doc etcs and you can see the progress of everything,
Started off running smoothly however once we started having problems we immediately regretted it, everytime we called we'd get a different person who'd check to see if he was available (cue typing sounds in the background) then it would be a no, he's in a meeting or he's just stepped out we'll get him to call you, etc . and obviously never did even after multiple calls from us during the day
So if you do go with PB, i'd strongly advise paying upfront0
