I drove past one of these on a dual carriageway that changed from 40mph to 70mph.
It had positioned itself hidden behind a tree literally just in front of the National Speed Limit sign.
My foot was already well down to overtake a lorry and my car was at 55 by the time I passed it. All I could think was - you devious barstewards - and keep my foot down so the tailgating Golf behind me didn't plough into the back of me.
I was waiting for the NIP, but one never came.0 -
It's hardly devious, speed limit does't take effect until you pass the sign, if it's a 40 and you're doing 55 then you're speeding
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.
