Tourism is already down 4% since the orange baffoon was elected. This may just be coincidental, but I will certainly not be pumping thousands of dollars into their economy again until he and his band of swamp things are gone.
  • Anyone that wants to avoid the queues can apply for the Global Entry:

    https://www.gov.uk/global-entry-usa

It comes at a cost and will mean a visit to London but if you travel there on a regular basis it may be worth it.

If I had to travel to New York ever again I think I'd get it anyway.

Mind you with the idiot that is currently their leader it wouldn't surprise me if he cancelled this :)

I have to admit the biggest pita when visiting the US is standing in a queue waiting to go through immigration- on a recent visit we waited over an hour.

When we finally got to the desk, the guy was quite dismissive as we were staying a few days - I'm sure his comments wouldn't have gone down well with the tourist department

Probably soon be the same for Spain, Italy etc, so worth getting the practice in
Private Parking Tickets - Make sure you put your Subject Access Request in after 25th May 2018 - It's free & ask for everything, don't forget the DVLA :D

Boycotting America because you disagree with Trump is about as nonsensical as suggesting that Europeans should boycott the UK when we leave the EU.

America is not a homogeneous country and you will find more people there who are vocally opposed to Trump than anywhere. Why not go and support them? And while you are there you can see some of the magnificent sights that the country has to offer, like The Grand Canyon, Yosemite, or New York.

When we went to San Francisco 2 years ago that's what I was expecting but ended up with the friendliest immigration officer in the world :D It made a great start to a fabulous holiday.

Plus 1 for travelling out via Ireland.

I got a one way ticket from LGW to JFK via SNN a few years ago. We were sailing back and EI had the cheapest one way flights. The flight from LGW was about an hour late. There were probably a dozen of us on board flying to JFK. We disembarked first and were met at the gate by ground staff who whisked us through some private areas to get us quickly to the US immigration hall, where we were cleared in about 5 minutes.

Last month I did the ultimate fight via Shannon. Flying from London City, we were on the ground in SNN for 45 minutes while the plane refuelled and the 20 passengers got off to clear Customs and Immigration. Thank you Avios, Amex, and https://www.headforpoints.com for an amazing trip.

I love the USA and will continue to visit this amazing country as often as I can.

We need to bring America to its senses and teach them a lesson by NOT going to America for our holidays, lets boycott the U.s.

All that would achieve is to hurt workers in the tourist industry in Florida etc.

I'm not generally in favour of boycotts. I visited the Soviet Union and the old South Africa.

I do think people should be boycotting Russia, but that it should be a personal decision.

Very few people allow principles to come into play though. Many people would criticise Russia but still visit it if there is a football match on. So on one level I admire OP for his principles, but as a campaign I don't think he is backing a winner.

US tourism is down because Brits make up a large part of the market, and with the collapse of the GBP the US has become much more expensive. I doubt that the number of tourists boycotting the US because of President Trump is having any impact at all.

When I was in NYC last month, it seemed busier than ever. And I had never seen so many people photographing Trump Tower before.
