You haven't said why you are reluctant to do the 'factory reset' despite several folks advising you to.
I've been using my first smartphone for a couple of weeks now, and it still mystifies me.
A factory reset sounds quite drastic, and so I wouldn't want to do this until I'm a bit more knowledgeable, particularly as I need to make a few important phone calls in the next week.
So I'm going through all the menu options to see what might affect the Internet Connection.
So far, I've only found two tick boxes, in different menus, for switching Mobile Data on and off.
When I'm more comfortable with the phone, I'll do the factory reset if nothing else has come up.
Doing a factory reset takes a maximum of 10 minutes, you just need to sign in again with your Google details. It certainly won't impact any phone calls next week.0 -
it's not as drastic as it sounds. press the button that says FActory reset. are you sure? yes. and let it do its thing for 10 mins. then log back inYou're not your * could have not of * Debt not dept *0

Plusnet appear to use EE APN settings.
I'd certainly do a factory reset and when you restart the phone make sure the sim card is inside - then select Plusnet or EE if it asks what your network is.
It may be trying to use the old network or even T-Mobile settings as EE uses their network code (234-30)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
I found out what was causing the problem.
The PlusNet rep and EE shop didn't take enough care over the APN Settings.
They both set the APN Type as internet+MMS

When I tried this it worked immediately.0
