Recommended wifi extender / booster for new BT home hub

Apologies if this isn't the right forum, but I hope it is.

We've recently moved and installed wifi. We have a new BT home hub, but I'm not completely sure on the model. The wifi signal is quite patchy - the house isn't huge, but has thick stone walls, including internally. Can anyone recommend the best wifi signal extender / booster for us to buy? I don't mind if it's a bit expensive as long as it works really well.

I've tried researching online (BT's website and Amazon), but got confused by all the options! We don't need plug through unless it improves performance; we don't want it to create an additional network in the house, and would really just like it to do nothing more than give great signal for us and any guests to the house (who would be staying furthest away from the hub!). I had the same issue, we have thick internal brick walls and we got patchy signal upstairs and pretty much nothing in our main bedroom.

I bought a TP Link WIFI extender (looks like you can get them for about £24 on Amazon at the moment), seems to work well. I actually left my house and got to the end of my road before it cut off,

I have the same TP Link wifi extender and also find it works really well. It gives us a good wifi signal throughout the house and our large back garden.

If you can, the best thing to do would be to run cables from the router to secondary wireless access points.

We got the BT Mini Wifi Home Hotspot kit.
The extender plugs into the mains electricity near the router and uses the electricity cables instead of wires, so just plug the hotspot plugs in where you want the extra signal. You then just set them to the same wifi details as the router.
I have an extra 3 set up at different points in the house, one even in my garden workshop.
