FOMC announcement later today and speculators banking on another rate cut while the UK rate cut looks less likely...if that is the case then Sterling could see $2.15 or even higher.
BTW, if you are thinking of going to NYC, please note that hotel prices + taxes will negate any savings you see through the $ rate. Hotel prices in NYC between Thanksgiving and the New Year are the highest in the US.

Hopefully! We are heading to NYC next month but luckily the hotel is booked and we pay the balance when we check in. The better the rate is the cheaper our hotel.

Incidentally, I heard an article on the radio earlier, dont forget that a number of currencies are pegged to the dollar UAE, and Belize are 2 i know of.
