Electrician installed this floodlight:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B076V9756Z/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
It didn't work at first so we changed the blown 13a fuse in the fuse spur to a 5a fuse however now it is so dim you can just about and see just each led cell dimly lit up.
Electrician saying either the floodlight is faulty or the wiring from the fused spur to floodlight is faulty.
How does one can tell the wiring from the fused spur to floodlight run is faulty? If so fault wouldn't the wiring be dead not live at all?

Check the rotary switches on the control box,you probably already have but its worth a quick check. The voltage needs to be accurately checked inside the lamp's control box and if incorrect further checks at the fused spur.
For a 13a fuse to safety fail ,we dont know why but have to assume it has been wired incorrectly damaging the lamp electronics, driver etc,A 3a fuse would have been more than adequate.
If the wiring is correct i would personally buy a different product, timeguard led pir flood lights are Ok.

Potentially a wiring fault with the Neutral and Live reversed.Never pay on an estimated bill0

Ok if voltage is incorrect at lamp control box then what further checks at the fused spur are done?
You mean wiring could have been done incorrectly at the lamp connection or the existing wiring run from fused spur all the way to outside?
Can a 5a fuse cause any problems or shall i get 3a fuse?0 -

Smaller fuses will fail sooner. I don't think being undersized can create a problem other than failing under load.
In the image the wires appear blue, black and white. Has he guessed which is which?

The first review mentions there being a slight glow from the led's when the PIR hasn't been activated - has it been set up correctly?0

What is a PIR and how it is activated?0 -

Yeah he checked the wiring and said all wiring is ok and advised that the floodlight is faulty.
So a 5a fuse is better than 3a fuse?
When it comes to electrics guessing is not a good idea :eek:0 -

Looking at the specification it is only a 30 watt unit, a three amp fuse is more than adequate and all that is needed for that unit.0

so putting in a 3a fuse will make it work?0
