OP, you're not the only one puzzled by insurance quotes. Like you I had an A4 (2005 B7) and with Aviva my renewal quote came out as £198 a few weeks ago which I accepted - this is for a fully comp policy with 15 years NCD and with a clean licence. However I had a brand new A4 Avant (B9) with a list price of £39k on order which was to replace my B7 and when I got this delivered a week later after renewal, the exact same policy for a 2018 A4 cost....£144. So Aviva actually ended up REFUNDING me the difference. Utterly bizarre, though I'm not complaining!
