As per the title, purchased a 2nd hand mini from Arnold Clark, had it less than a month and when I have gone through the on board computer it says I need new rear brake pads.
Bit gutted really I have to fork out for this as Ive only had the car 3 weeks.
Do I have any argument with the dealership to get these replaced?

Did it come with a PDI, if so, what did it say about the brake pads? Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0
-
They say the PDI came back with no issues, saying that though, I spotted the front tyres were worn and I made them replace them before signing for it.0

You could allways call and ask them.0

I never received any paperwork in relation to the PDI.0

What does your copy say? If it says they have checked the brakes and there are no issues then 3 weeks worth of wear and needing replacement is clearly not right. Brake pads wont be covered by a warranty as they are subject to wear and tear. The only recourse would be from the PDI being incorrect. Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Did it have and MOT before you bought it, did it have any advisories? Some people don't exaggerate........... They just remember big!0

Does the car have brake pad wear sensors, or does it just compute the number of miles and brake usage since the pads were last changed to tell you when they need replacing?
If the latter, and the car's computer hasn't been told the pads were changed, then maybe they are fine just the computer doesn't know.
Can you see the pads through the wheels and see how much friction material is remaining?0 -
I have emailed the sales agent who I dealt with but he states the car was road-worthy at the time of sale so it is not their responsibility, hence why Im here just checking before I start arguing with them about it.0

Its a mini so it has sensors, ill take a look and see what i can see. Only done 13k miles too!0

Just had a look and yes they are definitely low. Going to email them again and ask for a copy of the PDI as its obviously incorrect.0
