    Morning

welcome back Bella you will to tell us all about your jollies :)

Slept OK but still worried about the wound have taken all dressings off now as its pointless having a soaking wet dressing on it. Thanks Cranky for you pm advice and I will be discussing this with the nurse if they turn up today.

Cooked the chicken yesterday and had with hot crusty rolls a jacket and some coleslaw. It was lush .....too full for the cheesecake though so may have that with lunch today. Holly its my fav too when I was a kid mum used to make one that was just gorgeous (one of only a handful of things she could cook) so have loved them ever since.

Book club tonight and for once I can hold my head up as have read the book :D It was a true story called The Bigamist. Amazing to read how he managed to con so many intelligent women...worth a read though. We are being hosted by one of the girls and she is planning on food from her smoker so looking forward to that .....she's a gluten free vegetarian so guessing her hubby will be the chef tonight.

Will rest up for the day now ready for tonight and just hope the nurse deems to come round.

    Have a good day all:A

Just a short one from me as I feel absolutely wrung out. I think DH picked up a bug on one of his flights on Friday because he spent Saturday morning with D & V. Yesterday was my turn, unfortunately I have a compromised immune system so it took it's toll on me. I hope I start to feel better today because we're supposed to be going to Bath for a couple of nights tomorrow.

    Morning all

To my embarrassment I have not been up long :o I must have needed the sleep as I did not even stir, I am usually up at 6.30 in the morning :rotfl:

Anyway just having a tea and some toast and marmite (lush) and will then have a quick tidy though , its not worth doing too much as the kitchen floor is a right mess but it is drying out nicely.

Going to take Madam to the park for a good run, we will hopefully see one of her friends. I have got a towel wash on the go and will hang it out today as its a nice day.

chicken parmigiana for dinner tonight with some roasted garlic new potatoes and baby corn and asparagus, I am already looking forward to it :D

Snoozer I hope you feel better soon xx

    Have good days all xx

    Afternoon all.

I've not been idle! In fairness I was extremely idle yesterday so my exertions this morning were needed.

It's very muggy here still with on / off rain. My plan was to go into town for a mooch but the depressing thought of the devastation in the centre put me off. I think the school of art is gone forever whilst still got my fingers crossed. The estimate is £100 million for repairs, how could that be justified? Not a real question.

DM is up and about, a bit wobbly and enjoying my ministrations a bit too much. She has a docs appointment tomorrow for 8.30am which I hope she can make.

redruby - no need for embarrassment, a long sleep is good for you. When your body needs it it needs it!

    Happy Monday to everyone.

Had you thought of contacting PALS? I am not happy with the sound of your wound IYLWIM. It should not be beyond the wit of man (or woman) to source medihoney and a suitable adhesive dressing.

I went to sleep about two a.m. , woke up at six to visit loo and then went back to sleep and awoke at ten!!!! Still it makes a nice change from waking at five and not being able to get back to sleep. I seem to have signed up for A***on Prime accidentally but have decided to give it a trial as a lot of good deals are only for Prime members and getting goods the next day is a real boon.

Planning a brunch of an omelette before getting the bus to I**land and stocking up a small freezer with SW friendly foods so I have no excuse for eating rubbish as I want to be healthier for my first grandchild once she is born in a couple of months. Washing is outside on the line and just about to empty the dishwasher and tidy the kitchen.

We found DH liked a strawberry fortsip with some milk and cream and a few berries blitzed in it. We added cream to so many things to make them calorie loaded that eventually he could not bear the sight of it.

Older dd popped down yesterday and we had a cup of tea and a natter then I put the bed side cot she had bought into her car along with some packs of nappies, baby blankets and sheets etc. It was lovely to have a catch up and I even found a v shaped cushion for her to take home so she had one upstairs and one downstairs to ease her back.

I am so sorry you were let down especially as you had gone to a lot of effort and the cake sounded lovely.

Would it be possible to say something like "Gosh, that is really brave of you Mum" in an innocent tone and then drop the subject? My Dad did much the same thing as he had a choice of a one floor flat or a ground level one and opted for the first floor as "I have always had a bedroom upstairs!" I did try to point out that maybe if he hurt his foot or something it could be a problem but he was not listening to any of that. I think he regretted it when he broke his leg and then again when he was very ill and could hardly walk never mind use a long steep flight of stairs.

I got a phone call from middle dd asking if she could borrow my posh new picnic basket at the weekend and the comment that my mini quiches always used to go down a storm with her friends got slipped into the conversation so I "offered" to bake some for her to take. Hope I can still do them as it is ages since I made them.

    Hugs to all
  • Afternoon all,

I had the shortest day at work today. I was there 2 hours before being sent home with the lovely case of S&D , I work with kids so it's high risk to them.

So now I'm chilling on our sofa watching the footie.

    I managed to do some tidiying ;
    * Washing from being out on before leaving for work on dry
    * Sorted our food cupboards and wrote a food inventory list
    * Mangaged to almost set house on fire as i accidnelty turned the stove on when cleaning & melted a chopping board....was a nightmare to clean up!!
    * Washed up yesterday's plates
    * Cleaned out the bag we use for recycling

I could fall asleep right now but tons to do .

I hope things get brighter to everyone and hugs to all who needs them.

Gers I agree 100 million seems to be a bit OTT, but who knows. By the way at lunchtime I was watching a recording of Storyville that I did last night from BBC4 it was about a young girl in Mongolia who became an eagle hunter, what caught my interest was the nomadic tribe she belongs to stated that in the winter they slept in houses but the summer they slept in 'Gers' which is seems to be the name for their yurt-like tents !!! Not a outer Mongolian nomad by any chance are you :):):)

Quite warm and sunny here in the Garden of England and I'm just awaiting DGS Jack coming home from his last A level exam to see how he got on, then thats him finished at school until mid July.

All the housework got whizzed through this morning and even all the ironing is done and dusted so I can play for the rest of the week :):):)

Hope you are all OK and you are resting as required Nelski

    Cheers chums

  • Hi all,

Monday's are always a bit crazy for me at work so never really get chance to post. I wanted to be productive tonight but I'm just drained so the washing can wait, it'll still be there tomorrow. It seems I will have a job after the 'restructure' at work but have realised that it doesn't make me particularly happy, so I will quietly look for something else. If only I knew what I wanted to do with my life! All I know is it is not worth the stress it causes me and I'd rather be happy with less money.

Anyway, enough complaining from me. Not sure I will escape the football tonight but we'll see!

Sorry to hear some of you have not been sleeping well, I feel like I get plenty of time in bed but clearly don't get good quality sleep, it's really not fun and I sympathise :(

Don't have a huge amount to say really but I do enjoy reading all your posts, makes me feel less alone :o

    Have a good evening
