Nail in tyre - new tyre or repair?

Hi all

I have discovered a nail or something similar wedged in my front right tyre. The car is pretty much brand new so I’m hoping it can be repaired.

Just wanted your thoughts so that I don’t get ripped off... here’s the damage.

Any thoughts?

Assuming that is showing it somewhere towards the middle of the tread it should fix ok (as long as you haven't driven it flat) - expect £10-20 depending on where you are and where you take it.

As long as the damage is within, depending on tyre width, the central 60-70% area and the base of the hole after cleaning up is less than 6mm diameter then it is repairable.

If the puncture isn't in the sidewall and damage area less than 6mm it can be repaired.

Defintely worth trying to get it repaired.

Also, as there is some wear on the tyre, some tyre centres may advise replacing both front tyres rather than just one, which would be much more expensive than a puncture repair.

Not seen these - any links? As an ex-tyre fitter, I'd be wary of anything that doesn't involve taking the tyre off the rim to inspect inside.

Repair. That tyre looks like it still has a lot of meat on it.

DIY plugging kits? Well i have one in my car as a get you home fix. I actually left one in place for months and it worked fine ! Up to you, individual choice/risk etc..
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..
