Start off by making sure that the 1 laptop that can't get access hasn't got a firewall blocking access0

LAN is enabled when directly connected and wireless lan was enabled when trying to connect to router via wireless.
I get a local IP address in both cases but I get no internet connectivity?

In your router, have you set your router to be a dynamic connection
Open your internet browser
In the address bar type in 192.168.1.1
put in your password
Make sure that the PPTP configuration is set to Get automatically from ISP (default), and that your Password and MY Login are set correctly
See Chapter 22 section 3 of the user manual0 -
Red Rose Exile, does this apply for cable connections? I didn't notice any username passwords? The router connects to a Virgin cable modem.

Virgin Media: Are your user name and password correct?
Just as a matter of interest, is the wireless adaptor using the same channel as the rest?0 -
Hi, there isn't a user name/password on the router and I'm not sure about the virgin modem/box.
How do I check the channel? I can connect to the router and get a local ip address?

Hi, what shall I check next?

From the laptop with no connectivity, do Start, Run, Cmd OK and type ipconfig /all into the window. Copy and paste the output here.
Check the internet protocol TCP/IP property settings - compare with one of your working laptops. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0
