Netflighs vs. British Airways

Hi folks,
Looking for some advice.
I booked a flight via netflights as they had a good deal at the time of booking (Monday this week), I booked and paid in full and as such I was sent my booking confirmation and my e-ticket numbers for the 3 of us.
Immediately after booking I checked the PNR number on BA and everything appeared in order, I updated various preferences etc and saved the booking on ba.com.
Anyway, i wanted to update my wife's frequent flyer number so i checked the booking last night and to my horror it said.. "no flights found in booking".
I phoned the agent, they said that BA published incorrect flight costs which the booking agent "netflights" use as they are live flight costs at the time of booking and now BA have cancelled the flights and will not honor the booking.
Is this legal?
When i speak to Netflights they say it's BA's issue and they cancelled the flights and will not honor the booking.
When i speak with BA they say it's Netflights issue as they use the wrong price.
Now i am looking at total refund and a need to rebook, which of course has gone up by £500.
When i originally booked the flight difference was around £280.
All guidance is much appreciated.

was this the Tel Aviv error fare? there is a thread about it on FlyerTalk.
https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1913813-mistake-fare-lhr-tlv.html
It seems this fare was advertised on third party sites but not available with BA direct...
with error fares there is always a risk they will not be honoured0 -
If a mistake then the agency terms and conditions cover this:
<< Every effort is made to ensure the accuracy of all information and prices, but regrettably, errors do occasionally occur. Where a price is incorrect due to system error we shall not be bound by such price and we reserve the right to cancel any such booking >>.
You are due a refund.
If the fare was clearly a mistake. E.g. £99 return LON/NYC/LON then it is a gamble you take and if caught then you have to be prepared to accept it. If however the fare paid was close or inline with the :normal: fare, e.g. perhaps £350 return LON/NYC/LON, then you might be able to push Netflights for a gesture of goodwill on your next new booking, perhaps £20-£30 off.0 -
Yes, seems the conversation on flyertalk is all related..
Just find it amazing that they can do this,.
Oh well. is what it is,.0 -
I've had the same issue. Although i've noticed the flights have been cancelled i have not had any email to that effect. It seems ba will offer £100 compensation voucher in addition to refund. I don't see how they can do it- they are not covered by the travel agents terms and conditions.0

MSE are saying that the flights were mainly from London to Tel Aviv or to Dubai. My 4 flights were from Manchester to Doha. This problem was more far reaching than they are admitting to.
I think they should honour the flights as everybody bought in good faith.
I booked through Skyscanner with Carlton leisure but there were several booking agents quoting the same prices- it certainly looked genuine to me for that very reason. I am furious that BA are going to weadle out of this.0 -
If BA canceled flight within 24 hour of booking then I don't think there is much a customer can do.
If BA canceled the flight AFTER 24 hours of booking, then BA MUST honor the contract or pay for cancelled booking, consequential losses in form of cash and not travel vouchers.0 -
I have no idea when they officially cancelled the flight but I found out myself after 96 hours and that's because i tried to access the trip on ba.com which failed.
I have raised a formal complaint so hopefully they do the right thing, and to be honest i had no clue it was a mistake fare. When i first started looking at flights i could get 3 flights to Abu Dhabi for approx £1000 with BA (via broker). The deal I got when they made a mistake was £800 so that seems like a reasonable price, especially when they normally issue some good deals in June.0
