  • Good afternoon all :)

Thanks for starting us off Holly, and I hope whatever you decide to do today is enjoyable :)

BTDT, hope the pain has eased or better yet - gone

dumpling, I have no experience but can I say how courageous of Lee. Just goes to show what a wonderful mum you are :) as he felt able to talk to you about this. I feel sad for you at the ‘loss’ of Becky but he is still your dear child and maybe now that he has ‘come out’ life will get better for him. I wish you and your family all good fortune :)
Hope you enjoy your long weekend with Steve :)

TA, I don't know where you get the energy - coping with everything :T I marvel at your strength & my administration ration for you grows every time I read your posts :)

AoD, takes a while for the stresses & strains to dissipate completely but I do like the idea of ‘messing about’ :rotfl: & I love the ‘47 bears having a party’ :rotfl: I hope they invited you :D

nmlc, good luck with the yard sale :) hope it is profitable :)

redruby, localised rain sounds good :rotfl:

Lainey T - I laughed out loud at the Lu story :rotfl:

Nelski, sorry you are suffering but happy to see you have kept your sense of humour - accessorised with crutches :rotfl: Enjoy your night out :)

Jackie O, Hope quiz next get goes well & can you send me a couple of cheese & onion rolls :D

snoozer, hope Mr S is feels no better

csarina, seems to be a sausage & mash day - that is what I am cooking tonight :)

carolbee, I lurve broad beans :o

Gers, hope the damage to the Glasgow School of Art isn’t too bad :( - beautiful buildings always lift my spirits :) Hope your DM is OK as it must be very worrying for you both

I have been pottering all week & more of the same for the weekend :) Kitchen is fully sorted now & have spaces in nearly all my cupboards & tidy drawers as well - surprised me at the pleasure I got from reorganising :rotfl: and only about a dozen small items to cs - I must have done a better job than I thought last time :rotfl:
DSis has got all her storage for her room & just one shelf left to be affixed to the wall. My DH has been a godsend & he has the patience of a saint :A

I started on my ‘Wall Unit of Doom’ yesterday. Shredded loads of old personal paperwork, found a few items for cs & managed to condense six large cubbyholes into five :T Unfortunately as my house is filled with crates & crates of DSis’s ‘stuff’ I am struggling to get to the rest of the wall unit so need to get DH to rearrange the crates etc to allow me access :D

Wm is on as it is a dry blowy day so washing should dry quickly as long as the rain holds off :T

    Have a great weekend everyone

Nelski I was allergic to the pressure bandages when my leg was an open wound. I was also allergic to the dressing which contained silver that they tried next....the plain dressing with the type of low adhesive dressing that they use for delicate skin over the top seemed to be ok. Do you know which part of the dressing that you're allergic to?

Dumpling I've sent you a pm with the names of some of the organisations that my friends find helpful.

I've just been to the HT's school fair. The weather was ok but not hot. As we left (in the car) the heavens opened and it absolutely battered down. Luckily it's nearly closing time so they won't lose too much money on the outdoor things that they've had to stop.

Thanks for starting the thread and I hope you have a good day exploring a new place.

    Nelski

Could a non adhesive dressing with Manuka honey and a bandage be an idea ?

    Dumpling

What a fantastic caring Mum you are for Lee to be able to tell you what the situation was. I like the name Oleander too and your children obviously know they are loved and accepted which is a great part of any battle.

I have changed my super king bed and bedding is washed and outside to dry. The freezer in the conservatory has been washed down and switched back on last night ready to hold the contents of the kitchen freezer which I did this morning. The kitchen freezer is just about to be washed down and switched back on and then filled with healthy food options once I go shopping on Monday.

I have stir fry veg and some chicken to cook tonight and also a couple of pork chops to have tomorrow unless I decide to save a portion of chicken and stir fry for tomorrow and have a pork chop with green veg tonight. Having a quiet afternoon watching vintage tv and a browse on here as tomorrow will be busier with older dd coming round and driving me to visit her sister etc.

    Hugs to all

Good morning all (although I know you are 6 hours ahead)
Just wanted to pop in to say hi to Dumpling and agree with others who have said what a wonderful mum you are and that Lee has your love and unquestioned support
We are now in the final 6 days of our holiday the sun has really got his hat on and I am not a very fetching shade of lobster
Spoke to BIL and DMIL this morning as they had taken her out for the day and she was on good form she kept telling my DH to put some clothes on (he was in his swimming trunks)
We are doing two more trips next week before we come back otherwise just trying to chill
((((((Hugs)))))) to all that need them still love keeping up with all your news the thread was starting this morning as I went to bed
    Take care

One of the reasons I am finding it hard to sleep is that my beautiful Becky did something very brave and came out to us as being transgender and now wishes to be known as Oleander or Lee for short.

I was gutted when my daughter (the one in SA) came out as gay. Still not comfortable with it, still wish she wasnt but i'll love her whatever.

She's no disappointment in my eyes. I'm sure once you get used to the idea, you will feel the same.

I'm allergic to the sticky stuff on Elastoplast, as was my late Dad. I have to use Micropore plasters and tape. If I have a larger area to protect there are square dressings in individual wrappers which are made of stuff like Micropore - that is a trade name and fairly expensive though generic ones are just as good.

The sun has come out, the rain has dried up and I've done almost all my work. Today was the tricky stuff as I had to find my way around a very unuser friendly website (Blackboard if anyone else uses it or has used it). Happily a colleague sent me BB for dummies instructions. :rotfl:

NRA - good to hear from you, enjoy the sun while you can! MiL sounds in good spirits still.
  • TA - should read admiration!
