Abbey debit cards being declined customer-wide?

Well two of my abbey debit cards on sepearate accounts have both been declined in the last few hours when i've attempted to use them online, also in E-banking my balances show but i'm unable to move money around.

Are other abbey customers experiencing anny issues today?. :mad:

I've not tried using my Abbey card today.

Perhaps it's just general problems with Abbey's systems. (I received an offer from them yesterday - for an Abbey 16-18's account which "fits around you". Should I be flattered that they think I'm so young - or concerned that they can't do the maths to work out I could be claiming a state pension!)

Yes i have suffered this problem back in march as well when i went to canada and Pakistan , i was unable to withdraw cash from atm machines by using abbey debit card.

I've been trying to ring them today with a credit card application problem and was advised that their systems were down.

My cards started working around 7PM last night, was out for at least 4 - 5 hours though. Dare say it would have been rather embarassing had I tried to use my cards on the high street.

There were some problems yesterday afternoon. Small transactions should have gone through ok, but larger amounts wouldn't have been approved and balances, mini statements, etc weren't available. All fine now!

Abbey Electron cards are still being declined at retailers. Used the card in Tesco last night and it was declined. Received a letter from a cosmetics company today saying that payment for my monthly instalment of the electron card was declined and I've been charged £35. I have got funds in my abbey account and it is clearly their fault. Spoke to abbey and they are refusing to cover the penalty. What should I do?

move account, and go into branch if possible about the £35 charge explain the situation it was completely not your fault and in branch they should be able to see better that you had the funds.

Problems, again tonight, all abbey debit cards are being declined, also had a few problems on friday afternoon. It started working again around tea time. This is getting rediculous now.

I know they are migrating systems still, but why not do things like this at 3 - 6am in the morning and during the week instead of peak times and weekends when people rely on their debit cards.

Hi i have a visa electron i got money out this morning no problem about 90 pounds but i have tried an online transaction and have been declined what is going on it scared the hell out of me
