I have received a NTK from UKPARKINGCONTROL.COM informing me that the driver of my car owes £100 for "not parking correctly within the markings of the bay or space".

When I looked online they have photos of my car slightly across a white line, and a picture of the parking sign. There is also a picture of a yellow parking sticker on the windscreen.

This is the Ibis on Pollard Street in Manchester.

What should I do next? Appeal or ignore?

Thanks

Luckily, I am psychic, even though you didn't say so, this will be a March event and this is fully covered here:

    Thanks.
I copied the letter into the online appeal box and it said it is too long (more than 2000 characters).
Should I send it by Royal Mail or is there another that can be used - under 2000 characters?
Also, is there a handy template for the letter of complaint to the Hotel?

Obviously you can simply remove a sentence or two and I am not telling you what to remove, you can do that, or go and have another look, I've just reduced the appeal template to 1642 characters.

    But beware!

When you alter a UKPC online appeal, the drop-down at the top, defaults back to say 'driver'. So you must change it again to 'registered keeper'.

DO NOT POST THE APPEAL BY ROYAL MAIL.

Complaints to Hotels are shown in any Hotel thread, just search for that word!

It says I was issued a parking charge at the time which has not been paid, which I have no recollection of at all.

When I looked online they have photos of my car slightly across a white line, and a picture of the parking sign. There is also a picture of a yellow parking sticker on my windscreen. That sticker was not on my car when I returned. I had only been into the hotel to check in for around 10 minutes, before moving the car to another car park.

Around 10 mins getting back to your car left little time
for a UKPC warden to do everything and that includes
the possible removal of the ticket after the picture was taken.
This is called Ghost ticketing and done so you cannot claim
the 14 day discount that the ticket would have shown.
    Hence it's £100 ?

An illegal practice, of course it is but UKPC operate in
scam mode ..... they were caught out faking pictures
and are known to be predators, hiding behind wheelie
    bins.

The other train of thought is that UKPC offer a self ticketing
system meaning a non employee is given all the tools
including camera to target motorists. Normally, self
ticketing will done by an employee of the company, such
    as the hotel.

You need to discover what is going on with the hotel
    and UKPC.

As a customer of IBIS you must make a complaint
    to the CEO of IBIS.

Ibis is owned by Accor Hotels UK so go straight to the top

Today I got another letter from UKPC asking me to send a copy of the drivers full name and address within 14 days to the appeals department.

The letter also says - "Failure to do so will leave us no alternative than to make our final decision based on the previous information received. At this stage a POPLA code will be provided.

The charge is on hold and can be settled in full at the reduced rate of £60.

DO NOT IGNORE THIS LETTER BLA BLA BLA WE REGULARLY TAKE PEOPLE TO COURT WHO IGNORE"

So what is the best thing to do next?

    Thanks.

Best thing to do is ignore that letter.

But everyone gets that and ignores it, why do we still get posts about it? Surely you've seen this on every other UKPC thread you have read.
