DH and I were like this ... ships in the night.
He'd be coming in the door and I would be going out.
Eventually I changed to day and evening shifts, and working more hours, but the extra money went straight to childcare.
After a few years and another baby, I became a Childminder and now I am at home for everyone.0 -
I think a lot of it depends on the kids. If they enjoy going to the club's it's fine but if they hate it or worse, get upset then that's going to tough on you.
I never used clubs as I found a part time job. I was able to do both morning and afternoon school runs and although I obviously got paid less than full time there was no childcare bill and I think our time together was really valuable.
What I've noticed more is jobs are frequently more flexible around hours. It might be you take the kids to school and start work a little later but then take a shorter lunch / leave later. That way it's only afternoon care that's required.0 -
Could you get a job say 2pm - 8pm?
Your kids could go to after school club, then you would be home in the evening with hubby, and would not be so tired for the school run.
In the school holidays you would only need childcare from 1.30pm until 6pm. Perhaps even consider a nanny who could come to the house and cook them dinner?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
My grandson went to nursery full time from 15 months old. Then breakfast club/after school club when moved up to school.
He goes to holiday club in school holidays.
He loves it. In fact when the school was closed and his parents were at home because of the snow a few months ago he asked to go to the holiday club as he was bored at home. The snow had lost its novelty by that time.
But he is a very sociable boy who needs to be occupied and loves company.
Some children will live it, some will not.0
