Is there any scope to cut down on the amount of nights you do in your current job, so you're not out 5 nights a week? Alternatively look for a job where it's only 2-3 nights per week. You'd earn less, but still have no childcare costs but you'd increase couple and family time. Eg When I just had eldest I had a job in a convenience store 2 evenings a week, plus a Sunday morning.0

I had 3 children very close in age and found if I used childcare it would cost more than I could earn. The answer was to become a childminder as soon as my youngest started nursery. I had all the equipment for babies and small children already , so got registered and took in extra babies. It's not for everyone but I enjoyed it and it got me some extra money....first thing I bought was a dishwasher !!
There was the added advantage that I was at home when my own children were ill or off school so no trying to juggle a job and poorly children .Decluttering, 20 mins / day Jan 2024 2/20 -

Thanks this occured to me last night actually but no, they allow you to cut hours off your shift but not days. Thing is everyone arrives at same time, so if I start an hour later parking would always be an issue - and if I cut off an hour at end I would get more sleep but it doesn't really help the issue at hand.:o
