I don't know what area of the country you are in, but in my county the local branch of Age UK has a Benefit's Adviser who came round and helped my 87 year old dad complete the AA assessment (free of charge, but we subsequently gave them a donation). He qualified for the higher rate.

    Might be worth a try?

Good luck with your mum xx

    I've been Money Tipped!
Same here. Age UK sent out a very pleasant woman who discussed/advised and filled in the form for my Mum to sign to make the claim. She mentioned several things which are considered valid that we had not even thought of and would never have mentioned.

It is a charity that I have loosely supported for years but had never before realised how hands on and practical some of their knowledge can be.
