Economy 7 with only immersion heater
Is it worth it to change to Economy 7 if I have immersion heater for hot water, but my home heating are only 2 panel heaters on Wall with single regulation (thermostat) 1-10 (no timer or anything).
I will use all other appliances tv, ps4, laptopy, washing machine (not programmable for later start) on day.
I suspect it's not worth it but how to check it exactly?

I think it will be worth it.
Get some quotes based on your estimated night %age and see.
When I had an immersion timed to come on at night I used 50% of my electricity at night.
Now I do not have an immersion at all but still use c 20% at night.
Get a variety of quotes using say 30%/40%/50% at night. You may find every one is cheaper on E7.0 -
I'm working night shift so I will not use any electricity at night. It's gonna be only immersion heater, how to calculate how much kwh I will use every night just for heating water? I have 150l 3kW tank0
-
@tom99: from your post it seems immersion heater is 30% electricity usage at night, is that fair amount? It's not gonna be worth in this case as it should be more than 40% at night. Am i wrong?0

1 more thing: why we set up heating do hot water for 7 hours on economy 7 tarriff? Is it not better to cut this time to 2-3-4 hours? It's not enough time to Hest up whole tank (150l)?0

Doubt it's worth the bother of switching.
Immersion only takes 1 hour or so0 -
So what's the point of economy 7 tarriff if it's only 1-2hours of heating. I understand for storage heaters but with this, is it like 3-6kWh everyday to Heat full tank?Doubt it's worth the bother of switching.

I understand how it works but Im wondering how its working with my immersion heater. If it's getting full tank of hot water (150l, 3kWh) in 2,5h that's 7-8kWh, what's the point setting up heating water for 7 hours (for example 12-7am) if I can just set up 5-7.30 instead?0

No, when I used an immersion heater 50% of my elec was used at night eg total pa 2,800Kwh of which 1,400Kwh used at night.
There will be other things using elec at night as well as the immersion heater eg fridge/freezer, anything on standby say TV, recorder, oven, microwave plus clocks, alarms, chargers etc.
If you have E7 then you set the immersion to come on for 1hr just before the cheap rate ends, say 6am to 7am. If that does not give you enough hot water you just adjust the timing to say 5:30am to 7am.0
