She has offered to buy me out for less than 30k of the value.
What is that compared with the house value? 30k of a 100k share is worth fighting over, £30k on a £1m property, when an estate agent will earn 1-1.5% of sale value is less worthy of a fight.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I think you should send solicitors letter demanding rent for the past few months at X amount (since shes been living there without you).
Or suggest she lowers the asking price to X and you will write off the rental debt.
Might give her the nudge she needs0 -
Forcing a sale is not as scarily expensive as you think.
I had to force a sale on my ex. It took 5 years due to him ignoring everything and cost just over 5k. The judge eventually made him pay legal costs due to him being obstructive.
Maybe starting the process will just give your ex the kick she needs.
Good luck

If I was her I would politely decline to pay any rent (or, more likely, completely ignore such drivel).
The ex is occupying a house that both she and the OP own. She has no need or obligation to pay 'rent' to the OP.0 -

This is a monumentally bad idea.SteveB1965 wrote: »I have stopped paying the mortgage which is under £300 pcm...
If the mortgage goes into arrears, and the property is repossessed, it is your credit record which will be hammered, as well as hers. In addition, your 50% equity will take a hit from the costs and reduced sale price, just as much as hers will.0 -
'Unwilling to be reasonable' in these situations often really means 'won't do what I want'.
This guy's stopped paying the mortgage so I can't quite see why people think the ex should be paying him rent!0 -
Go back to paying mortgage 50/50, charge her market rent for your 50% share and demand the 50% of what her daughters pay towards it which you are entitled to.0

Might as well report your ex for tax evasion if she is not declaring the income while your at it
