Do you have a source for that assertion please?
As it seems to be quite different to what MSE & Martin said his role is.
In fact, it appears he strongly denied this suggestion.
Source: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/site/2015/07/martin-lewis-to-remain-at-moneysavingexpertcom-in-new-role-as-chairmanMoneySavingExpert.com's founder Martin Lewis is to move from Editor-in-Chief to Executive Chairman on 22 September [2015] and a new Editor-in-Chief and Managing Director will be appointed.
...
From September Martin will move to the part time role of Executive Chairman - with a job to oversee the site's strategy, development, ethics, editorial content and campaigning.
...
Q. How part time is part time?
Martin!!!8217;s A. "My role is as 'Executive!!!8217; Chairman not 'non-executive!!!8217; which means, once I fully relinquish the reins of Editor-in-Chief, I!!!8217;m likely to be working on the site at least a couple of days a week rather than a couple a month !!!8211; this isn't a sinecure.
"I!!!8217;ll still be very much plugged in, but to the big picture not the minutia. Also I'm keeping my office here at MSE Towers, even for my other work and charity ventures, so I'll be present in the office more days than that, in case I'm needed."
[My highlighting in red]
However, I do accept that this source is now almost 2 years old.
Please feel free to provide a link to a more up top date situation if you have one that confirms things have changed further

I'll leave it there, I think. I've had similar discussions in recent years and can't be bothered posting links etc..
(September 2015 is now far closer to three years ago..)
Suffice to state that Martin Lewis sold this site, but still receives residuals for allowing the use of his name and image.
Anyone who chooses to believe otherwise is entirely free to do so..0 -

Shame you are happy to post your original comments about Martin Lewis but when shown you could be way out you respond to say you "can't be bothered"!
If you are so interested in Martin Lewis' role that you post he has no input here you should be bothered when this is disputed otherwisw why "bother" posting in the first place!0 -

Your #5 & #9 is to blame for any off topic discussion here over Martin Lewis!Moneyineptitude wrote: »This discussion is off topic.0 -

I find the only use of any comparison site is that different companies' prices (in the case of energy companies, unit rates and standing charges) are all in one place. That is the beginning and end of it for me. What more do you need? It's just a price list, nothing more and, if you try to make it anything more, you are at serious risk of disappointment in which you are scarcely alone, judging by this board.
All this "you could save this/it will cost you this much more" is baloney. How does the CEC or any other "app" know how much energy I use unless I tell it? Further, how can they know how much I will use? None of us know that, not even the Met Office.
I think, OP, you and many others might be expecting too much of what is nothing more than a price list with a few useful filters. To be fair to the CEC, it is appreciably easier to use and more flexible than any of the half-dozen other energy comparison sites I have used. At least it gives the option to filter between fixed/variable/so-called "green" tariffs/factor the WHD in or out and gives a precis of customer service. That is all it intends to do.
Information does not = recommendation. "Top Picks" do not work for everyone (I have yet to come across one that was the best deal for me) and the CEC makes that clear. These sites work best if you use them purely for price information. Only you can decide which energy provider you want to use. Once you have, you may have a s#!t experience, you may have a shine one. No-one, certainly no app, can predict this.0 -
OP - you missed the red warning MSE has on this company's section in the CEC:
WARNING: Economy Energy's marketing and telesales practices are currently being probed by Ofgem.
(Includes a direct link to this page: https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/news/energy/2016/09/economy-energy-probed-by-ofgem-over-selling-practices?_ga=2.135841590.620642780.1528622417-1191508401.1510402543 )
and you missed the original line: " a company with 79% Poor reviews and is being investigated by Ofgen! " which I gave in the post. Read things through properly before jumping the gun. It was not a long post.I think this job really needs
a much bigger hammer.

I posted that you missed the "red" warning.!
Which you did.
You asked in your post if anyone checked the ratings. The the red warning highlighted them!
You chose to be told about all suppliers irrespective of their rating
If you only want to be notified about good rated companies alter your preferences. Or did you simply miss that you should have done before starting this thread?0 -
Don't you just hate the way some of the threads go like this on the forums.??
You said that,I said that,he said that, oh no he did not........and on it goes.
Really gets quite tiresome.........0
