    There are two separate categories:
Time spent researching and time spent creating and filing court papers.

And time lost in attending hearings, loss of salary/leave, travel, parking. Take a wage slip or proof of daily income to court with you on the day as proof.

And refer to 27.14 of the CPR; we've seen some Judges REFUSE 'loss of leave' because the D hasn't realised this rule entitles them to it, nor shown the Judge the relevant rule.

Some Judges consider loss of salary but not 'get' that includes loss of leave. It does.

The defendant has received a phone call from a certain solicitors.
The client has asked if the defendant would like to settle outside of court!

Unfortunately, settling meant money for the claimant and not the defendant.
The defendant had to politely decline the offer.

...... and the defendant is more than likely on course for a discontinuation in the near future. :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.
