Want a 32" or maybe 28" HD screen. Am go to hook it up to a Humax Freesat box and a dvd player. The dvd player is not important, but handy. Whats best bang for my buck? It has been suggested to me to buy a monitor instead of a TV? Am assuming HDMI would be the way to go. If I do get a monitor what is the sound going to be like?
Any suggestions or help appreciated.

Monitors tend to be dearer than an equivalent TV and their sound (if they have any) won't be any better. Just get a decent TV within your budget. Always choose HDMI over Scart whenever possible.0

I assume the Freesat and DVD player are both HDMI. And that you also have a PC to connect? Otherwise a monitor is pointless. You'll be restricted on connections (you will NOT get SCART) and no remote. And if you do get speakers they'll be junk.
If you're not connecting a PC, it's a no-brainer - a TV is best.0 -
You may want to factor in a soundbar as well, as most modern TVs (especially the smaller ones) have fairly poor sound.0
