My first time on the grocery challenge but found reading last months very helpful.
My budget is £300.This is for 2 adults ,3 children under8 and a dog.
We used to spend over £400.Have managed to get it down to £350 but £300 is what we realistically can afford.£2 saved for every 1lb lost.:D(starting now)0 -
Hi. This is a very motivating thread. I can relate to the meal planner-it brings back memories. When I was little (quite a while ago
) my mum used to have set meals for every day of the week. The only problem was that we had the same thing every monday, every tuesday, etc etc. I would love to do a meal planner for maybe a month at a time, but it has to be flexible and some of the meals have to be quick to prepare as I'm seriously short on time!!! I have no idea how much I spent last month for 2 adults 2 kids and a small pet. So I'l have to say about £200 for november groceries, cleaning stuff etc.
Fingers crossed.
Good luck to everybody else, and if anyone has any suggestions for meal planner, please share them with me.
Thanks!!GE 36 *MFD may 2043

Hiya
Half way through my challenge but will post in the new thread from now on.
Budget this month (mega help from Mum and Dad in the form of them doing MoC shopping for me....) is £100 to feed me, DH, DS1 (4.5 years) and DS2 (12 weeks). Oh and 2 cats. Normally will be £160
Anyway, £30 spent so far

I'm in again this month, sticking to £80. I came in under last month even though have a few small spends to add. I'm starting christmas food shopping this month too but I have funds set aside for that so shouldnt impact on my grocery budget.... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Yay! November's Challenge!
I did quite well last month and I have a full house so I am setting a limit of £20. This is for me and DD (16mo). I should only have to buy milk, eggs and veg and I don't need mmuch of those at that.
Good luck everyone!

Not sure if I have read this correctly... but £20 ??? For the whole month ??
Or is it for one week ?
Sorry if I am questioning you... but it really doesnt take alot to confuse me:o0 -
Sorry to bother you all...
And I am not sure how to ask this... and I am sure it has been asked beforesorry if it has....
But what do you think is a reasonalbe budget for a single person on the GC ??
I know we all include different things on our GC, but how much money do you think is a good budget for food only on the GC ??
Just after freyasmum last post... I am begining to question my spending a little more
Many thanks0 -
Count me in this month. Overspent last month but di spend on things that should have come from another budget. I am pleased with my spending so far so will allow £160 this month. We will be on holiday for one week so may be able to cut this down. Best of luck everyone.0

Hi nopot2pin (i always read your name wrong !)
This £20 is (or was rather! More down there *) for the month. And re your second post, please don't take this as a good place to start your challenge. I have me and my daughter to feed however my kitchen cupboards and my freezer can hardly close and my food is spilling over into my work freezer
I have 10 pints of milk in the freezer (reduced in tesco to 50p), loads of fruit & veg - some fresh, a few tins and loads of frozen and I have everything I need to keep us in bread till the end of the year, as you would expect from me (if you have read some previous posts, lol!)
* As you may have read, I posted £20 for this challenge. However last night, my ex asked if he could stay at mine for a wee while as he had had a fallout with his family  I will be sticking to this challenge as much as possible as I do not expect to fund his (large) appetite!
Lx
Edit: I forgot to mention, breakfast is porridge which is cheap, tasty and warming. I eat away from home 2 nights a week and usually I eat my lunch at work.0
