  • Thank you betterlatethannever, cinnabar and NekoZombie. I've been busy this afternoon sorting out all my DCA and Creditor papers and I didn't realise I had so many!!! I've obviously been organised enough to keep most of the paperwork but not to act on it!!! I'm drowning now in a sea of papers but I am feeling better that I am actually sorting everything out. I also have the paperwork for my two failed IVAs which will help me with my Income and Expenditure because trying to do that alone is hard. And I have written proof that I did try to sort out my problems a year ago!! I'm glad I kept copies and photocopied all other documentation. I've just been ignoring this matter and now it's time to sort it out. Once this is done I can recycle all this paper and it'll be a BIG contribution!

The next step for me is to organise all of this. Write down how much I owe approximately and how much I spend and what action I need to do next. I've bookmarked the papers on the website that I need for my BR from the Insovency Website. I have a help pack from National Debtline and my Payplan documentation.
    I feel more prepared now.

I'm going to get stressed I know but at least this is the start of the long road to recovery - well, a solution.

I'm glad I went on this forum and the Consumer Action Group - who incidentally have been ABSOLUTELY AMAZING with me. You both have.

I'll have lots of questions I'm sure so bear with me.

    A grateful loopy_lou1 x

Some of the best lessons we ever learn,we learn from our mistakes and failures.the error of the past is the success and wisdom of the future. :j
  • Well it's done! All the papers are organised and now it's time to write down the amounts

I am livid at the amount of charges I've incurred though. It makes me want to reconsider BR but in my position my credit score is basically gone and I'd never be able to pay back the surplus, anyway. Makes you think though how you think you've got into a mess and a lot of it is CHARGES and INTEREST!

I can't enter a DMP because I am in temporary employment and I think I would be paying back my debts forever, I don't have an alternative - saying that I don't feel as bad now as I did.

I'm grateful for all the support I've received here already and I've only been here a matter of hours.

I have two days off from work now so I will use one of the days to relax because I don't want to make myself sick and the other to knuckle down and deal with this.

    Cheers everybody

    xxx

From the looks of it, you had two threads going on the DFW forum on the 23rd.

    Here: http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=582811 and here http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=582806

It up to you whether you continue either of these threads or post a new one on whichever forum is most suitable.

  • Hi loopy, congrats on your realisation, thats definately the first step to sorting your problems out.

I went through BR 3 weeks ago and the actual court day isn't that bad, I went to mold court and it took an hour from start to finish, the judge was very sympathetic and understanding, he passed the order and wished me well for the future.

The forms may seem daunting but I got my local cab to help me and we went through it together, they've been great:T

If you need any help with the forms give me a shout.

    Good luck

I had debts, my circumstances changed, I tried but couldn't pay them, I dealt with them in the best way I could.........

  • Mold?

    I'm from Wales aswell.

I think I'll go to the CAB, too.

I am frightened of a BRO or an IPO to be honest! I have little enough to live on as it is!

Anyway :) Glad I've done this

Just done the calculations and my total debt is £33194.23 but it could be a little more because of HFO's charges!

As I said I found my IVA papers and my figures have increased from 31285.00 approx. Then again some of this can be charges which is why I have to put approximate figures down. That will be something that will be sorted by my OR I'm sure.

At least now I know what I am dealing with.

    What a frightening prospect!!

Anyway, I have my documents and now I need to do my Petition and SOA.

I'm scared but I can't sit here doing nothing about it anymore.

  • Theres no need to be scared hun, it's just paperwork from here on in, you've admitted to yourself that the debts are a problem, Now your dealing with it!

I just put aproximate figures on my soa too, the or will get the final figures from your creditors.

When I went to the Cab I basically went with my list of figures ( debts, earnings & living expenses ) told them I wanted to go bankrupt, they told me everything I needed to know and delt with most of it for me, can't recommend them enough!!

I'm from ruthin, where are you?
