Moto G6 Play - PAYG Sim

I bought one of these from O2 and am using an O2 PAYG sim.
The phone is fine and works well BUT when I delve into Settings/system/about phone/Status/SIM status under My Phone Number it says "Unknown" and under "Mobile Network State it says "disconnected".
As I said, it works fine but wonder how I can get the SIM status updated. There aren't any options to update it manually, and I would have thought that the phone would obtain this information automatically.
Any ideas would be welcome. Also if someone else has one of these phones if they could check how their SIM status reads. Thanks.

One of my twin SIM G5's ( the one I have with me now) shows:
SIM 1 and SIM 2, the same as yours and is working fine.0 -
You mean yours shows Number Unknown as well?0

"Phone Number it says "Unknown" and under "Mobile Network State it says "disconnected"." On both SIM's.0 -
OK thanks very much - sounds like some code wasn't well written. Wonder if its the same for all phones running Android 8.0.0.0
-
G5 is running Android 7.0.0

When I asked Virgin why their sim was also coming up 'Unknown' on my phone (dual sim LG V10), they said it was a security feature on all new sims??
No idea if that's right or not, but it works fine...
(Virgin aren't known for being right about anything, but you never know, I suppose...)0 -
Oh! Well, suppose it's not that important. I can USUALLY remember my phone number!0
-
Well I can't so I have created a contact for myself with the number.0

The results above are on Virgin and Vodafone.
Did some more checking last night on my second G5 on 3 and 02. Both SIM's show their respective numbers and both show disconnected. So as Jon 01 says it appears to be network dependant.0
