    Hi all,

Sorry been AWOL for a while, To be honest I've been having a bit of a hard time mentally and struggling with depression. I've had it many years, pretty bad in my early 20's - I'm mostly ok now but every so often my "fog" descends for a few days or so and its hard to even get up in the morning let alone motivate myself to do anything else and I tend to let everything slide. More or less come out of it now though i think (hope)

One thing i DIDNT do was start spending in an effort to cheer myself up - thats a major trigger for me and i believe one of the reasons for my debt but I'm immensely proud that I didnt do that this time.

    Anyway on to frugality -

:A online shop done using Mr M £10 off voucher. Used the saving to stock up on non perishables - loo roll, kitchen roll, tins etc have a nice little stash in garage now.
:A garden has luckily survived the strong winds loads of stuff growing and strawbs are nearly ready
:A H surprised me by rescuing brocolli stalk destined for bin and making brocolli soup (the man usually doesnt have a frugal bone in his body so hoping I'm starting to rub off on him)
:A got £26 cashback on holiday we booked a few months ago -put in debt fund
:A got £25 for a media survey i did months ago and forgot about - also to debt fund
    :A done 4 x surveys
:A been off work this afternoon - went out in garden instead of putting tv on - in fact its still not on! :T
:A checked spreadsheets, online banking and survey sites
:A cashed out survey sites for £17 worth of amazon vouchers - thats a start for xmas presents
:A complained about crushed bread on last shopping order and got £7 (refund and goodwill gesture) put it in the christmas food savings.
:A repurposed an old footstool i found in the garage as a toybox to accomodate the twins ever growing toy mountain.
:A got free 6 pack of chocolate brioche for kids via cashback app
:A mended eldest son's shoes with duct tape - is that really bad?? They have a small split in the sole and I'm trying my best to keep them going as I really dont want to spend £30+ on a pair of school shoes he'll wear for 25 days (or less due to numerous school trips/sports days coming up) as his feet will have grown again before september :o

We are going away this weekend which should do me good - my lovely MIL offered to have all 3 kids (brave woman) so we could get away. Just going to the seaside about 30 miles down the road and have booked a cheapo b and b for £40. No plans except lots of walking and maybe some fish and chips on the prom- I'm actually quite looking forward to it.

Think thats about it for now.
Total debts £21050! now £10941. 76. Total extra income made in Jan22 £109. 27 Feb 22 £45.25 Total extra income made in 2022 £154.52 Aiming for debt free at 45 - 41 months to go!

    Evening everyone

Not been about much as RL well and truly got in the way. Not been the best of weeks with the family dog having to be put down. The vet came to my mum's as my mum has mental health problems, it was the usual family vet for my mum's animals which helped but what a cra**y week.

DNMS caught up on the thread, glad everything okay not a nice scare to have but glad everything good. You sound like you are doing fantastic with ur sewing......me a cushion cover or pillow case that's my limit!
Ally, Spudsmum, Ellie sending hugs, you are all doing amazing.

To try and keep some routine have been checking my banking every day, spends book is up to date.

Busy cleaning ready for DD BF coming over to stay, fridge and freezer full of YS items that DD has become a whizz at getting. She has really picked up some good stuff so we are well stocked.

With left over bits I have, before using the new, going to prep for a chilli to go in the slow cooker Sunday morning as we are going to an event all day.

Finally wrote my letter to my friend.....only took how many months...a few!

Wrapped birthday presents that I already had in (forgot this birthday was coming up) and re using a gift bag.
One birthday present left to wrap.....using the plain metallic colours out of my Christmas sets of paper rather than buying new.

Sold an item on eBay, quite disappointed it didn't fetch much. Used RM stamps for postage.
Have ordered a couple more bits from eb@y for my link to hope shoeboxes.......much cheaper than trying to get to the pound store in the next town.

Can't think of anything else. Have a great evening everyone x

    Hi June-Penny-Jugglers,

    Today's (hopefully) realistic list:

    Debt-Free-Nillionaire Continuity Plan Year Four:

    THINGS I WILL DO:

    * Check online banking. Done.

    * Take medication. Done.

    * Turn alarm clock off at the wall til tonight. Done.

    * Look at whether we have the gear in stores to repaint a window frame which hasn't fared well over the Winter. We need silicon.

    * Get the sewing machine out to alter some trousers. Done. Ended up altering a pair for me, two pairs for DW and fixing a hole in some pyjamas.

    * Make toasted sandwiches using ghastly fake-butter we bought a couple of weeks ago. Done.

    * Get some exercise. Done. 30 min stroll on the prom.

    * Make donuts. Done.

To live without risk is to risk not living.

Morning all :hello: sending hugs and thoughts to those who need it and in particular struggling with their own 'fog' whatever the density at the moment.

    My list for today:
Packed lunch and evening snack as we're out all day at an event. Will get Home for a short time in the middle so have a ys pizza in feeezer which I'll get out in a minute
Have family staying so bought bacon so we're not tempted to treat ourselves out for breakfast
Hang some washing out in a minute. Bit damp in the air but I'm sure it'll warm up soon
Try and work out if I can squeeze a short gym session in this morning
Make a quiche base, see if DH will go to shop later and get filling stuff I need so I can bake first thing tomorrow as we're off on a picnic
Pop to get to collect insurance claim form. They failed to tell me 3 weeks ago when I dropped it off that they don't send it off and haven't let me know it's still there. I think I may be out of time  I'll submit today on email and see what happens.
Check utilities bill. It doesn't seem to be going down. Not sure what else we can do to reduce electric other than not use stuff, fullstop. Hmm. On the other hand gas is cheap as chips even in the months we've had heating on :T
Paint topcoat on Home pedicure, one has chipped already.

    Have a good day.

    Evening all :)

Not much moneysaving going on here either - might have done a bit too much physical stuff yesterday and paying for it today :( Still, I am glad I got it done!!

DD came round with little ones this morning, so I made a cake :) Nigella's chocolate sheet cake if anyone is interested https://www.nigella.com/recipes/chocolate-sheet-cake
Used ingredients I already had. Seems as though it would be ideal for a birthday cake or baking for a fundraiser, cooks quickly and very easy to make. GD enjoyed licking the bowl :rotfl:

Haven't been out today but OH is out and about buying scrap parts for the camper van (only a couple of little things like a mirror, and secondhand, so not costing much). Unlike the repair bill that I will be getting next week  Looking forward to going away in it though :j:j
OH also picked up bread and milk. Must note spends in diary!

((Hugs)) to those who are struggling. I am off to get an early night, will take a hot drink up with me :)
