    Hey Karmy!

This one sounds quite odd. We wouldn't normally do the change of ownership paperwork until all funds for the sale have been transferred. It's not in either party's benefit to do so.

Could you drop us an email on help@evanshalshaw.com or give our customer service team a buzz on 03333 239 178? Have the vehicle's registration number to hand and we'll get to the bottom of it for you. Be sure to let the team know if you're still waiting for that £100 back too.

    On the valuation bit:

The value of a vehicle fluctuates daily based on local supply / demand which is why we can only keep a valuation valid for 7 days. Our team should inform you of this at the time the valuation is given - and offer to revalue your vehicle if the sales process takes longer than this. It shouldn't be used to pressure anybody, so I'll have a chat with our sales leaders about your case.

Thanks for posting, hope we can help get this sorted :)

    Michael

Update - I've contacted the DVLA who said to send the V5 back to them with a covering letter, to say that I never took possession of the car. Which I've done. I'm now waiting for the DVLA to update their records and confirm that I've been removed as the registered keeper.
I've still had no direct contact from Evans Halshaw Nissan Sunderland and I have contacted customer services as suggested by Michael who posted on behalf of Evans Halshaw earlier.
I originally posted as I didn't know if I was to give the V5 back to the dealer directly, who I have no confidence in. Or to the DVLA. I was also concerned over how it could happen in the first place and the legality of the situation and wondered if anybody else had ever experienced anything like this.
Thank you to everybody who took the time to reply to my post.

The fact that EH flatly refuse to answer this question really speaks for itself.
