Flight could not land turned

Options
Wondering is I am intituled to compensation.
My BA flight was unable to land in Grand Cayman (bad weather) and as a consequence turned back and landed an hour later in a new airport (Nassu in Bahamas).
I had to wait for 3days before I could remind my journey as BA only fly to Bahamas on Sunday Monday and Thursday.
Ok I was put up in a hotel but the experience was frustrating and greatly unconvinced my family..
Am I entitled to compensation.

Welcome. Your post should be in the BA specific thread not your own personal which makes the board very messy and difficult to use.

Probably not, weather is often (but not always) and EC. You could check with an online checker such as Botts

However you could have insisted on a reroute much sooner even with an alternative airline.
Naughty BA for not making you aware of rights under reg 261/2004 but at least you know for future.

you are entitled to Duty of Care which means hotel and meals etc whilst delayed
No EU261 Compensation as the weather is not under the airline's control
Is it unfortunate that the schedule meant a wait but looks like the only other option would have been flying via MIA
Have you spoken to your travel insurance?
