Car in for MOT

Of course it's not a pointless advisory. It will give uneven braking in inclement weather if the winter tyre is doing its job.
Yet LeeUK seems to know better, although he does not handle criticism very well.
No I don't handle being called stupid because 1 tyre was a winter tyre that was already on the car when I bought it.
That is the difference.
I had to kneel down on all fours and look for the little snowflake symbol. No one would notice on just a passing look.0 -
Being on the car when you bought it is no excuse. It is dangerous to use snow tyres just on the front (or rear), using a single snow tyre is equally dangerous.Deleted_User wrote: »No I don't handle being called stupid because 1 tyre was a winter tyre that was already on the car when I bought it.

We couldn't care less, but if you're involved in an accident the police and your insurance company assessor might take a dim view of the tyre combination.0 -

If it was dangerous then it would have been listed as dangerous on the MOT not an advisory. Also the 2 previous MOT tests never picked it up either, one of them being the same garage and MOT tester who put it down as an advisory this year.of course a driver would notice it when the regularly checked their tyre pressures.
Tyre pressures are checked every week to 10 days when I visit the fuel station.0
