I don't see how I'm a leech as we work as a household I do all the cooking cleaning and take care of our kids and take them out very often whiles she in work so hardly lazy. the money she earns pay bills and what is left is hers and whatever she does with it. it's not right that they force both parties into work on pennies. yes soon kids older look after them self i be in full-time work. just at this moment it not worth the hassle to work for it.
You have a choice.
You can have all of this free time, including time spent with your partner when she is not working to support you, but will struggle a little financially.
Alternatively you can go out and work, be better off financially, but have less time with your partner and children.
Welcome to the real world. If UC is making people face up to such choices then it may be a good thing."When the people fear the government there is tyranny, when the government fears the people there is liberty." - Thomas Jefferson0 -
Good God...some people think working 40 hours a week is a big deal.
When my wife was pregnant having the twins i changed jobs and worked in security, working 112 hours so we had enough money for her to be a stay at home mum.
Wasn't easy being at work sixteen hours a day seven days a week...but worked for us.0 -
You've received carers allowance in the past, become a carer.0

Yes, working 50+ pays but you find a job that offers you them hours.
Ironic.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

It is a bit insulting to people who work hard in NMW jobs to hear these kinds of excuses. I know plenty of people who have to really juggle their time to take care of their children and work.
My first job was at a theme park earning £2.70 an hour. By the time I'd paid bus fare I was left with around £16 for a 10 hour day (after travelling). Okay this was 17 years ago when I was 17 but if I hadn't done this I wouldn't have been able to go out with my friends, go on holidays etc. I was brought up to not expect others to pay for me.
It really annoys me when people who don't want to work hard think they have a 'divine right' to the same quality of life as someone who does.0 -
So I'm the only person detecting the scent of "sous le pont"...0

Not at all, the ai/bot scored well with this one. Lots of chomping at the bit.
Perhaps the OP will return and say, for instance, they don;t have a driving licence, or anything to expose people s assumptions about stuff not mentioned in the OP.Originally Posted by shortcrust
