(UC) forced to look for work.

Another alternative would be to go self employed and choose your hours. But a banker, engaged at enormous expense,Had the whole of their cash in his care.

we class it as they are our kids so it's our duties to look after them while the other is contributing to this slavery system that pays pennies the time we pay for childcare and loses working tax due to hours and wage threshold and full rent full ctax. whiles i work 5 hours day mon-fri it is not worth working for. as a parent i rather be there for my kids than a full time working slave that never got time for my kids or the money. Yes, working 50+ pays but you find a job that offers you them hours.0

I applaud your morals and your wish to be a good parent...but why should tax payers pay for your choice?
And may I suggest you use all the hours your children are at school and you!!!8217;re not at work to perhaps join them, or take some adult education?0 -

it, not my choice if it paid good money for me to work I would be jumping on it. but 5x5 at min wage 195.75 i be lucky to take home £80 time I'm taxed paid childcare full rent ctax and what other effect it might have on working/child tax. yes it's £80 more but would you work 31p hour0 -
Maybe everyone should think that way then, we all should stop working? There would be no income tax so the government would have no money so nobody would be able to get a handout.
Working is about much more than money. Contributing to your family, contributing to society, good for mental health, good for social health, good for your kids to develop in their own way.0 -

If you were more qualified it would pay ‘good money’ to work...
Anyway, it’s attitudes like yours which make me glad UC does require people who choose not to work to look for work. You clearly can work it around your wife and childcare as you say you’d ‘jump on it’ if it paid good money...0 -

Youre not working for 31p. Youre working for your wage.
If I worked out my wage after my mortgage and bills, Im sure my hourly would be much more depressing. You just think whats the point for I can get that as a handout for nothing
My aunt worked at a loss after childcare to keep herself in the game. Now her children are older and she has a good salary. Where will you be when your children leave home...
Well luckily, now you cant.0 -
Well if that!!!8217;s your attitude I!!!8217;m glad your housing benefit has stopped...who do you think should pay your rent???
As I said initially, I!!!8217;d be more worried about how your family are going to see you than the couple of quid you can scam from ordinary tax payers.
The sooner the government clamps down on people like you the better. Benefits are there for those genuinely in need, you!!!8217;re just too lazy to work and using your children as an excuse.0
